Job Responsibilities:
∎ As per the Occupational Safety, Health & Environmental Work Act 2006 to comply with the requirements of * competent person * i.e. to have sufficient training, experience and knowledge appropriate to the work requirements.
∎ Monitors Health , Safety & Environment Legislation and developments in order to keep the organization up to date.
∎ Schedules and leads site HSE meetings and follows through on assigned actions through to completion.
∎ Manage environmental project activities including, scheduling, tracking and planning for environmental assessments, site investigations, feasibility studies, and remedial action plans.
∎ The review, design, implementation and development of company HSE policies, procedures, plans& develop a compliance strategy(s) to meet regulatory requirements.
∎ Work with Maintenance, Engineering and any other related department on equipment guarding, design, installation and compliance.
∎ Conduct EH&S advance training, incident investigations, safety committee meetings and follow up on responses and compliance assurance.
∎ Prepares and submits to the relevant regulatory agencies permit applications to obtain operating permits for new installations and modifications to existing permits.
∎ Evaluate current and proposed codes, standards, regulations and guidelines to determine the impact on current and future programs and activities.
∎ Maintains working knowledge of new technologies developed by the industry and government regulations.
∎ Conducts regular announced and unannounced Safety Inspections to ensure that all departments are complying with the terms of the Safety Statement. Maintain records and assists the appropriate manager in planning corrective action
∎ Actively participates in Project Teams/Groups established to introduce new technologies and programs to ensure that HSE is considered in the Project Planning process
∎ Liaises closely with those responsible for Emergency Procedures within the organisation to ensure, so far as possible, the prevention of fire and the safe evacuation of employees in emergency situations
∎ Organises general fire safety training and co-ordinates ERT (Emergency Response Team) training
∎ Liaise with plant Safety Representatives on a regular basis to consider HSE issues and communicate openly on existing or forthcoming HSE issues
∎ Co-ordinate activities of first aiders and organize first aid training on a periodic basis
∎ Prepare the site for Corporate PVP (Property Vegetation Plan) assessment process.
∎ Prepare and implement measurable environmental programs for energy, water, materials, air, noise and waste. Align programs with corporate expectations and metrics.
∎ To develop, implementation and on-going up-keep of emergency response plans (pandemic, injury, fire, security, chemical, business continuity).

∎ Age at most 40 years

∎ Good general computer operation skills and knowledge of MS Office.
∎ Familiarity with team building techniques.
∎ Willingness and ability to work under pressure.
∎ Experience is much more considerable than the qualification.
