Skill and Competencies

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in MEAL/M&E roles within development or humanitarian projects
  • Strong understanding of MEAL concepts, indicators, and data quality assurance
  • Experience in field-based data collection and monitoring
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and basic data analysis tools
  • Familiarity with digital data collection platforms (e.g., Kobo, ODK) is an advantage
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to travel frequently to remote field locations
  • Fluency in Bengali and working knowledge of English


Responsibilities & Context:

Responsible for:

  • Support the design and implementation of project MEAL frameworks, indicator tracking plans, and data collection tools.
  • Conduct routine field monitoring visits to assess activity progress, quality, and compliance with project plans.
  • Support baseline, endline, post-distribution monitoring (PDM), need assessments, and evaluation studies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate data collection from field teams using approved formats and tools (paper/digital).
  • Verify, clean, and compile quantitative and qualitative data for reporting purposes.
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and donor-specific MEAL reports.
  • Maintain and update project databases, indicator tracking sheets, and dashboards.
  • Facilitate community feedback, complaint response mechanisms (CRM), and accountability processes at field level.
  • Support documentation of case studies, success stories, and lessons learned.
  • Provide orientation and on-the-job support to field staff on MEAL tools and reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate with program teams to track output, outcome, and learning indicators.
  • Ensure proper filing and archiving of MEAL documents, both hard and soft copies.
  • Identify data gaps, quality issues, and risks, and report them to the MEAL Officer promptly.
  • Support learning sessions, reflection meetings, and internal reviews.
  • Undertake any other MEAL-related tasks assigned by the MEAL Officer or Project Manager.
