Responsibilities:

  • Persons with disabilities’ inclusion in the mainstream of society, with ensuring accessibility according to the CBR matrix.

  • Conduct home visits to persons with disabilities and provide training to enhance their skills and abilities, enabling their participation in family and social life.

  • Encourage communities to offer economic empowerment opportunities in inclusive ways.

  • Provide social support to persons with disabilities and their families.

  • Identify and refer persons with disabilities requiring care to the appropriate services.

  • Collaborate with local government services and authorities to provide support to persons with disabilities.

  • Assist to arrange meeting/training/orientation/workshop with financial & procurement activities.

  • Develop an individual monthly plan, and support to prepare the project report.

  • Develop strong collaborative, supportive, and mutually respectful relationships with diverse team members, key stakeholders, and the community.  

  • Maintaining liaison and coordination with stakeholders and communicating with vendors.

  • Assist in organizing capacity-building training/event for SHG/OPD.

  • Collect real time date form field and conduct FGD.

  • Guide and follow up on CBR workers’ activity.

  • Maintain stock by preserving hard copies and beneficiaries’ data.

  • Prepare case studies.

  • Assist the physiotherapist in the screening and assessment camp.

  • Assist in client referral to internal and external service providers.

  • Computer skills: MS Office applications-word/excel/power point presentation, database and familiar with the Internet.

  • Any kind of task complete which provided by the supervisor or higher management.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree/ master’s degree in social sciences or relevant fields.

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Knowledge of persons with disabilities’ rights and safeguarding issues in Bangladesh.

  • Minimum 2/3 years of practical working experience on issues related to persons with disabilities, such as the CBR process.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in essential computer software.

  • Experience in working with Organizations with Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), Self-help Groups (SHGs), adolescent groups, PTSD, etc. 

  • Previous experience of working in the char and islands areas and knowledge of local languages will be a definite advantage
