• Bachelor's degree in relevant field, social science (BSW), Psychology or Law, Political Science, desirable.
• Essential Three years minimum in a similar social or protection job; experience with MSF or other NGOs, desirable
• Desirable: having minimum one year of experiences in one of the following: general protection, child protection, support for survivors of violence (including sexual violence), refugees, etc
• Desirable: having minimum one year of experiences in case management, conducting interviews, communication adapted to vulnerable populations, etc
• Essential: English and Chittagonian dialect/Rohingya language.
• Essential computer skills (MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Conducting social assessments, identifying the social support needs of patients/survivors, including legal, protection, shelter/housing, financial/vocational, food security, and access to medical and psychosocial support services beyond the project intervention scope.
• Supporting the provision of comprehensive care to patients and their families, by actively coordinating their work with the other members of the MSF multidisciplinary team (eg. Medical, MHPSS) and linking with multi-sectoral services such as protection, safety, security, legal, justice, education, and livelihood.
• Providing direct social support based on social assessments and facilitating referrals to evaluated external re-sources. Provide systematic follow up care regarding attendance of clinical appointments, and following up on referrals made to relevant multi-sectoral services aimed at improving the quality of life of patients/survivors.
• Participating in the creation and maintenance of any material needed for the activities of social workers, including facilities and equipment in order to ensure continuity.
• Mapping and regular updating of formal and informal support services (incl. existing community resources). Assess quality of existing support services, with identification of gaps and advocacy for an improved culturally appropriate social response.
• Maintaining records, statistics, files, and reports on all social work activities and follow up care either provided by MSF or other support services. Identifying gaps in the available services and with the team prioritizing and developing plans following the objectives of MSF.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
Under the supervision of HAO, the tasks and responsibilities will be expected to be done by the social worker based at the Balukhali SOPD facility.
• Primary responsible for accepting patients from the SRH/SGBV, MH clinics, Hep C, Vaccination and other medical units as needed for referrals (protection, legal, education, shelter, economic, livelihood) as part of the MSF comprhensive care and quality services.
• Support HAO and HA team on protection referrals from the medical units within the MSF facility by providing needed information into the case management database and developing, implementing and evaluating of patients’ case management plan jointly with medical team and advocacy team.
• Provide to patients and their families information on available protection services/agencies and facilitating the access whist reinforcing the existing referral protection pathways with other specialized protection partners.
• Co facilititate in the development of case management portfolio (medical +protection) to support the benficiaries / patients coming to the BKL SOPD.
• Ensure proper protection referral documentations, maintain individual patient referral files, and record information with full confidentially and security.
• Facilitate the MH and/or SGBV- SW case management follow up meetings for complex cases which requires both medical and social support.
• Primary responsible for report writing and sharing of protection referrals when requested within the clinics including analysis and recommendations.
• Contribite to the development of the community engagement general protection initiatives, fostering community participation and ownership (e.g celebration days like world child, world women's day);
• Contribute to the preparation and follow up of protection trainings for humanitarian affairs teams and medical teams on GP, CP, GBV among others;
• Attend as requested to participate in case reviews, morbidity and mortality reviews, protection meetings with the medical team and protection partners (sectors meetings hold with BKL SOPD catchment areas) ;
• Performing any other tasks requested by HAO, Dep MTL and upon the needs of the department.
This is a Permanent position. Salary according to level Five (Level 5) of the internal MSF salary grid (BDT 68,500 Gross). Salary is not negotiable. Income tax deduction from salary based on current income tax rule. 2 annual leave days per month worked. Medical insurance for employee and direct dependents based on Health Care Policy- Locally Recruited Staff.
There are no provisions for relocation.
