  • Experience Requirement : At least 10 years of experience in a relevant field area or other national/international donor-funded MNCH programme or Health project. Former GoB officials and women candidates will be given preference.

  • • MBBS degree from a recognized institution, with valid BMDC registration.

  • • Minimum 10 years of experience in MNCH, public health, or clinical service delivery.

  • • Experience working in remote or underserved areas will be considered an advantage.

  • • Strong knowledge of national MNCH guidelines and clinical protocols.

  • • Sound clinical, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.

  • • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and under challenging conditions.

  • • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and reporting tools.

  • • Fluency in Bangla; knowledge of local languages will be considered an added asset.



Responsibilities & Context:

GRAUS is implementing a project titled “Momentum Integrated Health Resilience (MIHR)”, covering the period from May 2026 to April 2027, subject to the availability of funds. The project will be implemented in Khagrachari Hill District of the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), Bangladesh, with the objective of improving the quality, coverage, and continuity of Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services across District Hospitals (DH), Upazila Health Complexes (UHC), and union-level facilities. This will be achieved by strengthening the capacity of service providers, enhancing facility readiness, and improving service coordination, with technical support from JSI Research and Training Institute, Inc. GRAUS intends to recruit competent, experienced, and qualified Medical Officers to lead and support the project.

Name of Position : Medical Officer (MO)

Number of Position : 2 (Two)

Base Office : GRAUS Project Office, Khagrachari

Work Place : District Civil Surgeon office, District Hospital, Upazila Health Complex, and Facility-Based Services

Academic requirement : MBBS Degree or Master's or Higher Degree in Public Health

Key Responsibilities:

  • • Provide comprehensive Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) services at health facilities and during outreach activities.

  • • Conduct antenatal care (ANC) and postnatal care (PNC), and ensure safe delivery practices where applicable.

  • • Diagnose and manage common illnesses affecting women and children, and provide appropriate treatment and referrals.

  • • Support Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) services when required.

  • • Ensure proper growth monitoring, immunization support, and nutrition counseling for children.

  • • Provide family planning counseling and services in line with national guidelines.

  • • Supervise and support medical assistants, midwives, and community health workers in delivering MNCH services.

  • • Ensure infection prevention and control (IPC) measures are strictly followed at all service delivery points.

  • • Maintain accurate patient records, registers, and reporting formats as per project requirements.

  • • Prepare and submit regular reports (daily, weekly, and monthly) to project management.

  • • Participate in community health education and awareness sessions on MNCH-related issues.

  • • Work closely with relevant government stakeholders, including the District Civil Surgeon, District Family Planning Office, District Hospital, Upazila Health Complex, and other implementing organizations to ensure effective coordination and active participation in project implementation.

  • • Ensure availability and rational use of essential medicines, equipment, and supplies.

  • • Support data collection, monitoring, and evaluation activities of the project.

  • • Respond to health emergencies and outbreaks as needed.

  • • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, ethical standards, and national health protocols.

  • • Prepare donor reports as required.
