Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Lead the quality assurance initiatives for both the melting and rolling sections to ensure consistent production of high-quality billets and rods.
∎ Oversee the melting and rolling processes, implementing quality checks to ensure compliance with established standards and specifications.
∎ Ensure the quality of raw materials, including scrap steel and alloy additives, by establishing rigorous testing and inspection protocols before use in production.
∎ Develop, implement, and maintain quality control protocols tailored to both sections, ensuring adherence to industry and regulatory requirements.
∎ Utilize statistical process control (SPC) techniques to monitor production metrics and identify areas for improvement.
∎ Conduct root cause analysis for any quality-related issues and implement corrective and preventive actions to address them.
∎ Train and mentor the Quality Control team on best practices, inspection techniques, and quality standards specific to melting and rolling.
∎ Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production processes, focusing on defect reduction and quality enhancement.
∎ Analyze quality data and prepare comprehensive reports on product quality, process performance, and compliance for management review.
∎ Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to align on quality objectives and resolve any quality-related challenges effectively.
