Requirements:
Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Plan and oversee the export and import operations for the garment products, including documentation (bill of lading, invoices, customs documentation, etc.).
∎ Negotiate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transport companies to ensure cost-effective and timely shipments.
∎ Coordinate with buyers and production teams to meet shipment deadlines and maintain communication regarding shipment statuses.
∎ Ensure all shipments comply with international trade regulations, local customs laws, and export-import documentation requirements.
∎ Oversee the completion of customs clearance for both incoming raw materials and outgoing finished goods.
∎ Stay up-to-date with changes in import/export policies and regulations, ensuring full compliance.
∎ Manage warehouse operations, including overseeing the receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
∎ Implement inventory control processes to maintain accurate stock levels and reduce shrinkage or wastage.
∎ Optimize warehouse layout and product movement to increase efficiency and reduce handling costs.
∎ Develop and implement logistics strategies to optimize transportation, reduce lead times, and control costs.
∎ Plan routes and manage delivery schedules to ensure timely distribution of garments to clients.
∎ Collaborate with production, procurement, and sales teams to forecast demand and ensure on-time order fulfillment.
∎ Build and maintain relationships with logistics service providers, shipping agents, and customs brokers.
∎ Negotiate contracts with logistics vendors to ensure cost-effective services and delivery reliability.
∎ Monitor vendor performance and manage service-level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality and efficiency.
∎ Monitor and manage logistics costs, including freight, warehousing, and customs charges.
∎ Optimize logistics processes to reduce transportation and handling costs without compromising service quality.
∎ Prepare cost forecasts and manage the logistics budget.
∎ Lead and mentor a team of logistics and warehouse staff, ensuring efficient workflow and high morale.
∎ Assign tasks, manage workloads, and conduct performance evaluations for team members.
∎ Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team performance.
∎ Identify and mitigate risks related to the transportation and storage of goods, including damages, delays, or losses.
∎ Quickly resolve logistical issues such as shipment delays, customs holds, or damages during transportation.
∎ Develop contingency plans for unforeseen logistical challenges.
∎ Track and report on logistics performance metrics, including on-time delivery rates, shipment accuracy, and cost per shipment.
∎ Analyze logistics data to identify areas for improvement in processes and cost efficiencies.
∎ Generate reports for senior management on logistics performance and cost control measures.
