Responsibilities & Context:
Job Purpose:
The Assistant Manager – Maintenance will be responsible for ensuring that all injection moulding machines and molds remain in optimal working condition to achieve maximum production output. The role will focus on preventive and predictive maintenance, quick troubleshooting, cost optimization, and building a skilled maintenance team.
Job Responsibilities:
Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for injection moulding machines and molds.
Implement predictive maintenance techniques for critical equipment.
Oversee mold repair, polishing, cleaning, and preventive servicing.
Coordinate with the tool room for major mold repairs or modifications.
Track mold and machine performance history, life cycle, and breakdown trends.
Ensure machines are electrically and mechanically sound to deliver optimum production output.
Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis during breakdowns.
Ensure minimum downtime through quick response to machine/mold issues.
Propose and implement improvement measures to reduce downtime and maintenance. Maintain adequate spare parts inventory and raise indent requests when required.
Monitor energy consumption, machine efficiency, and cost of maintenance.
Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out following safety protocols (LOTO, PPE, etc.)
Prepare for internal and external audits related to quality, compliance, and safety standards.
Monitor and guide the supervisors of the maintenance team in executing their responsibilities.
Provide training, coaching, and development support to build team competency.
Ensure proper work allocation, supervision, and performance monitoring of the maintenance team.
