Responsibilities & Context:

Job Context
MDM Architects (Mukta Dinwiddie MacLaren) is a multidisciplinary architecture, engineering, and sustainability consultancy with offices in Dhaka, London, and Abu Dhabi, working across humanitarian infrastructure, PPP advisory, disaster-resilient design, water management, and government procurement. We are looking for an experienced Architect to lead design development, client engagement, and proposal preparation across our project portfolio.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Prepare architectural concept designs, schematic drawings, and technical drawings across the firm's project portfolio.

  2. Attend and lead client meetings to understand project requirements, present design concepts, and incorporate feedback.

  3. Coordinate directly with foreign clients, consultants, and partner organizations on international and donor-funded projects.

  4. Develop project proposals, design narratives, and technical documentation for tenders and bids.

  5. Produce 3D renderings, visualizations, and walkthroughs to support design presentations and client communication.

  6. Coordinate with structural, electrical, mechanical, and other engineering teams for integrated design solutions.

  7. Prepare working drawings and construction documentation in line with project specifications, codes, and standards.

  8. Conduct site visits and assessments to inform design decisions and monitor construction progress.

  9. Ensure designs comply with relevant building codes, sustainability standards, and disaster-resilient design principles.

  10. Prepare presentation materials, mood boards, and design reports for client and stakeholder review.

  11. Collaborate with the Principal and senior architects on design direction and quality control.

  12. Mentor junior architects and design staff as required.
