Experience:

We are looking for an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical development and execution of sweater samples from initial design concept through buyer approval and bulk handover.
The ideal candidate must have strong practical knowledge of sweater construction, pattern development, measurements, knitting techniques, yarn behavior, linking, washing, finishing, and sample troubleshooting.
Take overall responsibility for the sample room and technical development process.
Review buyer tech packs, sketches, specifications, measurements, construction details, and comments before sample development.
Guide the sample team on correct construction, measurements, workmanship, yarn, gauge, stitch, shape, linking, washing, and finishing requirements.
Ensure all development, fit, salesman, size-set, PP, and approval samples are completed accurately and on time.
Identify technical risks at the development stage and provide practical solutions before samples proceed.
Ensure correct interpretation of buyer comments and implement required corrections in subsequent samples.
Work closely with programmers and knitting technicians to develop accurate shapes, patterns, panels, and constructions.
Check sample measurements, fitting, garment balance, appearance, hand feel, and workmanship before submission.
Ensure sample construction is technically feasible and suitable for efficient bulk production.
Minimize repeated sampling by improving right-first-time sample accuracy.
Maintain proper sample development records, technical comments, measurement corrections, and approval history.
Coordinate closely with Merchandising, Yarn, Knitting, Linking, Washing, Finishing, Quality, and Production teams.
Conduct pre-production technical handover once a style is approved.
Ensure approved sample standards are clearly communicated to bulk production teams.
Troubleshoot issues related to shape, measurement, shrinkage, twisting, stitch construction, linking, garment appearance, and fit.
Monitor sample room productivity and ensure samples are completed within required deadlines.
Train and develop sample room technicians, pattern makers, programmers, operators, and checkers.
Establish and maintain technical SOPs and quality standards for the sample room.
Support development of difficult, high-value, and technically complex sweater styles.
