1. Strategic Sourcing & Supply Management
I. Develop and execute the annual sourcing strategy for yarn, knit fabrics, trims, accessories, and packaging in alignment with business plans, order book, production capacity, and cost objectives.
II. Build, evaluate, and maintain a reliable local and international supplier base covering trim and accessory suppliers, and other strategic material sources.
III. Lead strategic negotiations on pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead times, capacity, and commercial agreements to achieve competitive landed cost while maintaining quality and supply reliability.
IV. Drive alternate sourcing, supplier diversification, localisation, make-or-buy decisions, bulk purchasing, and value-engineering initiatives to optimize cost and mitigate supply-chain risks.
V. Monitor global fiber, fabric, and material market trends and provide strategic recommendations on sourcing, costing, forward buying, and cost volatility.
VI. Establish supplier performance management systems covering cost, quality, capacity, compliance, financial stability, responsiveness, and delivery performance.
2. Marketing & Buyer Development
I. Develop and execute buyer acquisition and business growth strategies across key international markets, including EU, USA, UK, Australia, Middle East, and Japan.
II. Identify, approach, and develop new buyers, brands, and retailers while strengthening senior-level relationships with existing customers to increase business volume, profitability, and long-term account value.
III. Lead buyer negotiations, RFQs, strategic account reviews, buyer visits, trade fairs, and business development initiatives.
IV. Present competitive product, costing, capacity, lead-time, sustainability, and manufacturing propositions aligned with buyer requirements.
V. Drive market intelligence on fashion, knitwear, consumer, material, sustainability, and product trends to strengthen the company's product and market positioning.
VI. Lead seasonal collection and product presentation initiatives in collaboration with Design, Product Development, Sourcing, and Merchandising teams.
3. Merchandising & Order Execution
I. Provide strategic direction to the merchandising function across costing, sampling, order confirmation, TNA planning, production follow-up, quality, approvals, and shipment.
II. Ensure effective alignment of buyer requirements, sourcing plans, production capacity, material availability, and delivery commitments throughout the order lifecycle.
III. Review and approve key costing, order, development, and pre-production packages to ensure commercial viability and execution readiness.
IV. Monitor order book, capacity utilization, TNA milestones, material readiness, and on-time shipment performance; proactively address risks and implement mitigation plans.
V. Ensure accurate and timely commercial and shipment documentation in coordination with Commercial, Logistics, Finance, and other relevant functions.
4. Trims, Accessories & Product Development Sourcing
I. Lead end-to-end sourcing and development of trims and accessories, including labels, hangtags, buttons, zippers, elastics, tapes, drawcords, patches, packaging, and other garment components.
II. Ensure all materials and accessories comply with buyer specifications, approved standards, technical requirements, quality parameters, sustainability expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements.
III. Review tech packs, BOMs, artwork, specifications, and approved standards to ensure accurate and commercially viable sourcing.
IV. Oversee supplier development, sample submission, approvals, purchase orders, production, inspection, and bulk delivery of trims and accessories.
V. Develop innovative and sustainable material solutions in line with customer expectations and organisational sustainability objectives.
5. Quality, Compliance & Supply Assurance
I. Ensure all sourced materials meet required quality, technical, testing, social, environmental, chemical, and buyer compliance standards.
II. Lead supplier audits, performance reviews, corrective actions, and development initiatives in collaboration with Quality, Compliance, Technical, and other relevant functions.
III. Ensure timely availability of yarn, fabric, trims, and accessories to support knitting, dyeing, garment production, and shipment schedules.
IV. Establish contingency sourcing strategies and proactively manage material shortages, quality issues, capacity constraints, and critical supply risks.
6. Leadership & Strategic Management
I. Lead, develop, and empower the Sourcing, Marketing, and Merchandising teams through clear objectives, KPIs, performance management, coaching, and capability development.
II. Establish departmental strategies and targets for order booking, revenue, profitability, sourcing savings, supplier performance, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
III. Drive process standardisation, SOP development, digitalization, and continuous improvement across sourcing and merchandising operations, including ERP, PLM, costing, and TNA systems.
IV. Ensure strong cross-functional alignment among Marketing, Merchandising, Sourcing, Design, Product Development, Production Planning, Knitting, Dyeing, Quality, Finance, Commercial, and Logistics.
V. Provide senior management with business insights, sourcing intelligence, market analysis, order-book updates, capacity requirements, and strategic recommendations
