  • Experience 15+ years of total audit experience, with at least 5–7 years leading audit functions in large-scale composite textile/spinning/weaving mills.
  • Deep understanding of textile ERP systems (Oracle, Datatex, or bespoke textile ERPs), spinning/weaving mass-balance equations, and data analytics tools.


Responsibilities & Context:

Purpose of the Role

To lead and manage the internal audit function across spinning and weaving operations, ensuring financial integrity, process compliance, cost control, and operational efficiency throughout the manufacturing value chain — from raw material (cotton/fiber) procurement to finished fabric dispatch.

Key Responsibilities

Audit Planning & Execution

  • Develop and implement the annual audit plan covering spinning, weaving, and allied departments (blow room, carding, ring frame, autoconer, warping, sizing, weaving, fabric inspection)
  • Conduct process, financial, inventory, and compliance audits across all mill locations
  • Review SOPs and ensure adherence to internal controls at every production stage

Cost & Inventory Control

  • Audit raw material consumption norms (cotton, yarn, fiber) vs. actual usage; investigate wastage and variances
  • Verify stock reconciliation for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods (yarn/fabric)
  • Review costing of yarn count, fabric GSM, conversion costs, and process losses
  • Monitor scrap, waste sales, and by-product (e.g., cotton waste, sizing chemicals) accounting

Financial & Compliance Audit

  • Audit purchase, stores, and procurement processes (vendor selection, rate contracts, GRN vs. invoice matching)
  • Verify payroll, contractor labor bills, and statutory compliance (PF, ESI, minimum wages)
  • Ensure compliance with excise/GST, factory laws, and other regulatory requirements
  • Review fixed asset register, capex utilization, and machinery maintenance costs

Process & Machine Efficiency Audits

  • Evaluate machine utilization, efficiency (spindle/loom utilization %), and downtime analysis
  • Audit quality control processes (yarn quality, fabric defects, count/strength testing)
  • Review energy consumption patterns (power/unit of production) for cost leakages

Reporting & Risk Management

  • Prepare and present audit reports with findings, risk ratings, and actionable recommendations to management/board
  • Identify process gaps, control weaknesses, and fraud risk indicators
  • Track closure of audit observations and follow up on corrective action plans
  • Conduct surprise audits and special investigations as required

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead and mentor a team of internal auditors/audit executives
  • Coordinate with statutory/external auditors and cost auditors
  • Liaise with plant heads (spinning & weaving), production, purchase, HR, and finance teams
