Responsibilities & Context:

The role will be responsible for translating market and customer trends into commercially viable apparel collections while working closely with merchandising, fabric R&D, product development, sampling.

• Conduct market, trend, competitor, and customer research to identify emerging fashion, color, fabric, silhouette, print, and detailing trends.

• Develop seasonal mood boards, trend boards, color stories, product directions, and collection concepts.

• Create original fashion sketches, CADs, technical drawings, and product presentations using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.

• Develop commercially relevant collections based on buyer briefs, market trends, target customer profiles, and price points.

• Prepare detailed tech packs, including construction details, measurements, trims, artwork placement, colorways, and design specifications.

• Work closely with Fabric R&D, Merchandising, Sampling, Pattern/CAD, Printing, Embroidery, and Production teams throughout the development process.

• Select and recommend suitable fabrics, washes, trims, prints, embroideries, embellishments, and garment finishes.

• Review development and fit samples and provide clear comments to ensure the final product meets the intended design and buyer requirements.

• Prepare professional buyer presentations, design intelligence, market intelligence, and seasonal product proposals.

• Participate in buyer meetings and confidently present design concepts, product opportunities, and new developments.

• Understand factory capabilities and develop products that are both commercially attractive and production feasible.

• Monitor international brands, retailers, fashion platforms, and competitors to identify relevant commercial opportunities.

• Coordinate multiple developments simultaneously and ensure projects are completed according to agreed timelines.

• Guide and mentor junior designers and support the overall development of the design team.

• Maintain organized design, artwork, fabric, trim, and product development archives.

• Support the development of 3D/digital product presentations where required.
