Responsibilities & Context:

1. Quality Management & Control

• Lead and oversee the overall Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) functions across production lines and relevant manufacturing processes.

• Identify quality defects, analyze root causes, and take effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to resolve production and quality-related issues.

• Monitor and evaluate internal production processes to ensure compliance with established quality standards, buyer requirements, and company procedures.

• Evaluate final product quality and ensure products meet approved specifications, workmanship standards, and customer requirements.

• Ensure timely rejection, segregation, and corrective action for products that do not meet defined quality standards.

• Prepare and submit quality-related reports to Production Management and senior management, highlighting critical issues, trends, and required actions.

2. Buyer & Customer Quality Requirements

• Participate in pre-production meetings, buyer meetings, management meetings, and other quality-related discussions, providing professional advice on potential quality risks and preventive measures.

• Ensure buyer-specific quality requirements, inspection standards, workmanship standards, and quality procedures are effectively communicated to production and sewing teams.

• Coordinate with Production, IE, Merchandising, Technical, Compliance, and other relevant departments to maintain quality standards in line with buyer requirements.

• Maintain effective communication with FCQA/CFA, Sales, Merchandising, and other concerned teams regarding critical quality issues arising on the sewing floor or during production.

• Support customer and buyer QA representatives during factory visits, assessments, inspections, and quality-related activities.

• Follow up on customer/factory quality concerns, DC inspection findings, quality callouts, and corrective action requirements until satisfactory closure.

3. Quality Performance Monitoring & Reporting

• Establish, review, and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly quality performance tracking systems and working procedures.

• Set and monitor quality targets and KPIs on a weekly, monthly, and annual basis.

• Analyze quality data, inspection results, defect trends, rejection rates, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement.

• Conduct regular internal quality audits and re-audits to assess compliance and effectiveness of quality control systems.

• Monitor FCQA performance and progress through regular audits and performance reviews.

• Ensure proper documentation, recordkeeping, analysis, and reporting of quality-related activities and corrective actions.

4. Team Leadership & People Development

• Lead, develop, and motivate the QA and QC team to achieve organizational quality objectives.

• Develop team members through effective communication, coaching, skill development, performance assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Allocate and distribute responsibilities in accordance with the approved organization structure and ensure clear accountability at each level.

• Identify manpower and competency requirements and coordinate with the FCQA/QA Lead regarding recruitment, placement, and development of quality personnel.

• Develop and implement structured training programs for QA, QC, and relevant production personnel.

• Build a strong and competent quality team capable of identifying problems, controlling processes, and driving continuous improvement.

5. Total Quality Management (TQM) & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and implement short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to establish and strengthen Total Quality Management (TQM) throughout the organization.

• Lead initiatives to develop a quality-driven culture across Production and supporting departments.

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in quality, productivity, process capability, and operational efficiency.

• Work closely with Production and IE teams to reduce defects, rework, rejection, alteration, and quality-related waste.

• Promote preventive quality management by addressing potential risks at the process and root-cause level rather than relying solely on final inspection.

6. Production & Quality Coordination

• Work closely with Production Management to ensure quality requirements are integrated into production planning and execution.

• Monitor critical quality issues on the sewing floor and ensure immediate containment and corrective action.

• Coordinate cross-functionally to resolve recurring quality problems and prevent their recurrence.

• Balance quality requirements with production efficiency while ensuring that customer specifications and workmanship standards are not compromised.

• Monitor quality performance against production plans and take timely action where quality performance may affect production or shipment commitments.

7. Shipment & Delivery Assurance

• Follow up on production and shipment schedules from a quality perspective to ensure products are released on time without compromising quality standards.

• Monitor quality performance against shipment priorities and highlight potential quality risks that may affect delivery commitments.

• Ensure all critical quality issues are resolved before final shipment approval.

• Coordinate with relevant departments to minimize quality-related delays, rework, and shipment risks.

8. Audit, Inspection & Customer Support

• Support and coordinate internal, external, buyer, and customer quality inspections and audits.

• Ensure timely preparation for customer QA visits, factory inspections, and quality assessments.

• Review inspection findings and ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented effectively.

• Follow up on quality callouts and inspection findings with responsible departments until complete closure.

• Maintain records of customer quality feedback and use the findings to strengthen internal quality systems.

9. Strategic Responsibilities – AGM Level

• Establish the overall QA strategy and quality improvement roadmap aligned with company business objectives and customer expectations.

• Review quality performance with senior management and recommend appropriate actions, resources, and improvement initiatives.

• Develop and monitor departmental KPIs for QA/QC personnel and ensure accountability for results.

• Drive a culture of Right First Time (RFT), Zero Defect, Continuous Improvement, and Customer Satisfaction across the organization.

• Ensure effective integration of quality assurance throughout the complete manufacturing process—from pre-production and input materials through production, final inspection, and shipment.

• Take ownership of major quality escalations and lead cross-functional teams in resolving critical or recurring quality issues.

• Ensure the organization remains competitive by continuously improving product quality, process capability, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
