Experience:
Proven experience in pattern development for apparel, ideally within a fashion or garment manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience interpreting tech packs, CAD drawings, and design sketches.
Proficiency in Gerber or similar pattern-making software.
Deep understanding of garment construction, fabric behaviour, and manufacturing processes.
Strong sense of quality standards and brand alignment.
Solid grasp of grading principles with experience developing size sets and grading rules across a full size range.
Working knowledge of fabric consumption, costing and manufacturability and how pattern decisions affect them.
Create, and refine first patterns using Gerber ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with design intent.
Interpret sketches, CADs, tech packs and inspiration samples to create well-engineered patterns suitable for development and production.
Develop blocks, size sets and grading rules aligned to brand standards.
Apply deep knowledge of garment construction, fabric behaviour and manufacturing methods to produce patterns that are fit-for-purpose and cost-efficient.
Lead VC sessions with design team, conduct fit analysis and propose balanced technical solutions while maintaining design vision.
Create and update technical documentation including specs, measurement charts, pattern comments and risk assessments.
Collaborate with the sample room and production teams to ensure patterns translate accurately from prototype to sealed sample, resolving construction issues at source.
Review fit comments from design and wear-trials, adjusting patterns and grading to resolve fit issues while protecting the brand’s fit blueprint.
Manage grading across the full size range to ensure consistent proportion, balance and fit at every size.
Partner with sourcing, costing and production teams to assess feasibility, fabric consumption and manufacturability, identifying efficiencies without compromising quality or fit.
Maintain an organised, version-controlled pattern library, ensuring all pattern, grading and specification records are accurate and traceable
