Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or a related discipline.
Candidates with relevant professional qualifications or training in Procurement/Supply Chain Management will get preference.
Strong knowledge of industrial and textile/washing chemicals and their applications.
Good understanding of chemical specifications, MSDS/SDS, COA, and quality requirements.
Strong negotiation, communication, analytical, and vendor-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong knowledge of procurement processes, documentation, and commercial terms.
Willingness to travel when required.
We are looking for an experienced and responsible Manager – Chemical Purchase to oversee the sourcing and procurement of chemicals and related materials for our manufacturing operations. The incumbent will be responsible for supplier sourcing and evaluation, price negotiation, purchase planning, quality and quantity assurance, timely delivery, and maintaining proper procurement documentation. The position will work closely with Washing, Production, R&D, Store, Commercial, and Finance departments to ensure uninterrupted supply of required chemicals.
Manage end-to-end procurement of chemicals and related materials as per production and operational requirements.
Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base for chemical sourcing.
Source chemicals from local and international suppliers and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and service.
Negotiate prices, payment terms, lead time, and other commercial conditions with suppliers.
Prepare and execute purchase orders based on approved requisitions and purchase plans.
Ensure timely availability of chemicals to support uninterrupted production and washing operations.
Coordinate with Washing, Production, R&D, Store, Commercial, and Finance departments regarding chemical requirements.
Monitor market prices, availability, lead time, and market trends of different chemicals.
Evaluate chemical specifications, quality standards, MSDS/SDS, COA, and other relevant documents before purchase.
Follow up with suppliers regarding order confirmation, production, shipment, delivery, and documentation.
Ensure chemicals are procured in compliance with company requirements, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with Store to avoid overstocking or stock-out situations.
Develop cost-saving strategies and identify opportunities for efficient procurement.
Maintain proper records of suppliers, quotations, purchase orders, prices, delivery status, and other procurement documents.
Resolve supplier-related issues regarding quality, quantity, delivery, pricing, and documentation.
Conduct supplier performance evaluation and develop long-term business relationships with reliable suppliers.
Prepare regular purchase reports, cost analysis, and management updates.
Perform any other duties assigned by the management.
