Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must be flexible and available to work both day and night shifts as required.
Technical Knowledge
- In-depth understanding of sheet-fed and web offset printing processes.
- Proficient in four-color process (CMYK), spot colour matching (Pantone), and colour calibration.
- Knowledge of pre-press workflows, including plate making (CTP), RIP, and file formats (PDF/X, TIFF).
- Hands-on experience operating and adjusting offset printing presses for speed, pressure, and ink flow.
- Skilled in make-ready procedures, including plate mounting, blanket cleaning, and feeder adjustments.
- Familiar with densitometers, spectrophotometers, and press-side colour management tools.
- Understanding of different types of paper stocks (coated/uncoated), inks (conventional, UV, soy-based), and coatings (aqueous, varnish, UV).
- Knowledge of chemical handling, fountain solutions, and dampening systems.
- Knowledge of ICC color profiling, Mellow colour, color curves, dot gain compensation, and gray balance.
- Ability to interpret colour proofs and maintain consistency across print runs.
Responsibilities & Context:
General Responsibilities
- Lead and manage offset press operators and support staff.
- Coordinate with production planner to meet deadlines and priorities.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Inspect print jobs for registration, colour accuracy, dot gain, and consistency.
- Monitor ink densities, pH levels, and paper compatibility.
- Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality checks.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues quickly to minimize downtime.
