Job Context:

∎ Beconnected is currently looking for a senior technician/Technical manager for our Bangladesh office.
∎ Bangladesh is one of our key offices for growth within the group.
∎ This team works together with our offices in Belgium & Hong Kong/China to supports our clients over the world.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Liaising daily with suppliers regarding fits, workmanship, quality standards, fabrics, finishes and grading.
∎ Support the factories to solve specific make or construction queries.
∎ Maintain consistency in sewing rules and make standards, and ensure factories understand the standards required to produce for the brands.
∎ Request, inspect and assess pre-production, top of production and shipment samples. Flag any issues that could impact quality & delivery with the reporting manager.
∎ Liaising with the quality team to ensure the bulk quality standard.
∎ Report on quality, faults and production each season, detailing each factory's performance against target.
∎ Assess any consumer and customer complaints/returns and ensure any recurring issues are addressed. Also required to arrange an appropriate corrective action plan and see the actions through for development & production.
∎ Work alongside Product Development to ensure all technical specs are clear and any measurement requests are consistent with the standard measurements.
∎ Attend and run all development samples and pre-production fittings to ensure samples conform to the final style and are of the correct quality.
∎ Define and maintain grading and sizing rules for each garment type.
∎ Flag any size variance prior to fit meetings and ensure the factory is informed where appropriate.
∎ Maintain and agree on standard measurements and record and measure against spec for all styles.
∎ Record all fit comments and relay to the factories, ensuring amendments are accurately reflected in future samples or production.
∎ Undertake regular competitor research to ensure fit and sizing is competitive.
∎ Plan and organize development & fitting meetings with different offices where needed.
∎ Ensure that all styles are constructed using the most appropriate techniques and accessories to ensure the longevity of the garment and it's fit for purpose.
∎ Plan and organize the physical and chemical testing as per the customer's requirements. Also, random testing is to be followed as assigned by the organization.
∎ Review and assess test results and plan for an appropriate solution in case of testing failure.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 5-8 years' experience in a similar role, ideally within the fast fashion industry;
∎ Tertiary education & experience in Pattern making and Grading;
∎ Tech pack and garment specification knowledge;
∎ In-depth knowledge and experience in fabric testing, textile properties and quality management systems;
∎ Experience in chemical management system ecological testing, EU REACH regulation and knowledge about RSL;
∎ Experience working across a variety of categories is essential;
∎ Strong English spoken and written communication skills.
