Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Oversee quality assurance across cutting, sewing, and finishing processes, ensuring adherence to buyer specifications, internal SOPs, and industry standards.
∎ Inspect fabric rolls and verify marker placement for optimal fabric utilization. Monitor fabric spreading and layering for tension control and shade segregation.
∎ Size set sample preparation and checking according to approved sample, make necessary corrections and reporting for final pattern and marker.
∎ Conduct pre-cutting checks (e.g., shrinkage, marker approval) and ensure precise cut panel measurements and bundling integrity.
∎ Maintain cutting quality KPIs including Cut Panel Accuracy, Rejection %, Fabric Utilization, and Shade Segregation.
∎ Supervise in-line quality, validate first bulk and inline approvals, and ensure operators follow style-specific SOPs.
∎ Lead defect tracking and root cause elimination for top recurring issues.
∎ Monitor and drive reduction in DHU, Rejection Rate, and improve FPY (First Pass Yield) and RFT (Right First Time).
∎ Oversee style-wise risk mapping and layout evaluations for smooth production handovers.
∎ Conduct final garment inspections for defects, measurements, stitching, and presentation standards.
∎ Ensure ironing/pressing consistency and accurate execution of trimming, labeling, and thread cutting processes.
∎ Identify, document, and segregate defective pieces; coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.
∎ Maintain complete and accurate records of quality checks, defect trends, and improvement actions.
∎ Prepare and submit daily and weekly quality performance reports to QA leadership.
∎ Ensure all processes align with buyer compliance standards and are audit-ready at all times.
∎ Maintain documentation required for internal/external audits and certifications.
∎ Monitoring sharp tools log, label management, needle issue & replacement procedure, metal detection procedure.
∎ Conduct training sessions for operators and finishing staff on quality checkpoints, SOPs, and critical operations.
∎ Lead continuous improvement and Lean/Kaizen initiatives to reduce waste and enhance product quality.
∎ Guide and support floor-level Gemba walks to resolve issues in real-time.
∎ Work collaboratively with Production, Cutting, Merchandising, and Technical teams to ensure seamless quality integration and swift resolution of issues.
∎ Participate in pre-production meetings and risk assessments to proactively address style-specific challenges.
∎ Ensure sampling, cutting, sewing, finishing production quality by reviewing buyer guidelines, SOP & flow-chart, appropriate placement of team members, guiding on work processes & critical points, close monitoring on execution stages, collecting defect reports, taking corrective actions, transparent reporting, training team members, motivating QA & production persons toward Quality at Source and leading the Quality Assurance team. Work closely with all concerned departments to maintain a friendly and motivated team to ensure smooth workflow.
