Educational Requirements:

∎ Job Location: PFDA-Vocational Training Center Trust House No 291, Road No 19/B, New DOHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka
∎ A vocational trainer teaches students job skills they can practically apply to gaining employment and becoming wage earners. He may use his own occupational experiences, or enlist the aid of others who have practical knowledge of vocations that could help students become productive members of the workforce. The vocations he teaches may be found in service sectors, technical environments, the construction trade, or craft-related fields such as woodworking or cosmetology.
∎ Types of Vocational Trainer Jobs
∎ A vocational trainer may teach adults or high school students, and is also commonly referred to as a technical or career education teacher. Besides private and public high schools, this job can be found in community or technical colleges, trade schools and labor union teaching centers. If possible, a vocational trainer may arrange for students to learn a trade in an actual workplace.
∎ Some vocational trainers teach a variety of subjects, while others concentrate on only one skill or profession. Their students may merely be seeking career guidance, or may need to be retrained following an injury or illness. In some cases, a vocational trainer teaches visually impaired or hearing impaired students or those with developmental disabilities.
Job Responsibilities:

∎ Like most teachers and instructors, a vocational trainer must develop and implement lesson plans for her classes. These plans must reflect the skill levels and vocational goals of her students and may change with each semester she teaches. She is expected to physically display or provide videos to demonstrate how jobs are done, instead of providing only an oral or written job description. A vocational trainer is required to answer student questions and offer guidance on procuring jobs in the community or region in which she is teaching.
∎ Working Conditions:
∎ While many vocational trainers perform their jobs in typical classroom environments, some work in conference rooms, warehouses or places where specific jobs are performed. For example, if a vocational instructor is teaching the basics of cosmetology, he may teach at a cosmetology school. If he is providing guidance on woodworking, he may instruct his students in a woodworking shop so he can demonstrate how to use related tools and equipment. Vocational trainers who work for high schools normally have more regular schedules than those who teach in other educational environments.
