Education:
    • Masters
  • Masters in Statistics/Anthropology/Sociology is desirable from any UGC approved reputed University or institute.

  • PGD in Data Science or any relevant short course related to research learning and evaluation will be given priority

Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Manager MERL supports the design and implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning systems of BRAC-LEGO strategic partnership project to ensure programme quality, accountability, evidence generation and adaptive programme management. The role contributes to planning, capacity strengthening, data management and reporting to support programme effectiveness and strategic decision making across departments.

  • Conduct regular monitoring visits to programme sites including Humanitarian Play Labs and other programme interventions to assess adherence to programme guidelines and implementation standards.

  • Conduct Data Quality Assurance exercises to validate programme data, ensure completeness and reliability of datasets and strengthen monitoring and reporting systems.

  • Identify monitoring gaps and operational challenges in the field and support management in refining monitoring frameworks and implementation strategies.

  • Prepare monitoring tools, observation checklists and survey instruments in coordination with the supervisor and programme management.

  • Conduct surveys, Focus Group Discussions, Key Informant Interviews and other monitoring activities to collect qualitative and quantitative data that informs programme learning and improvement.

  • Analyse monitoring findings and prepare regular monitoring reports including monthly, quarterly and urgent reports as required.

  • Present monitoring findings and programme insights in meetings and learning forums with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support evaluation partners for evaluation, assessments, research, and capturing programme learnings.

  • Prepare and maintain MIS dashboard using visualisation tools and using robust data collection mechanisms.

  • Prepare and update programme visuals, one pager, info graphs and presentation as per requirement, support in preparing donor reports.

  • Maintain regular coordination with programme teams, headquarters units and relevant departments to ensure effective data flow and programme alignment.

  • Support capacity development of MERL Officers and field staff through training, mentoring, workshops and regular feedback.

  • Strengthen programme learning by supporting reflection sessions and ensuring that monitoring and research findings inform programme improvement and adaptive management.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme`s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
