Job Context

We are looking for a Site Engineer with a Civil Engineering background to manage and coordinate the execution of architectural, interior and fit-out projects. The candidate will be responsible for site supervision, project coordination, contractor and vendor management, civil & interior works, furniture/joinery execution, material management, and ensuring timely project completion from site commencement to final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day site activities according to approved drawings, BOQ, specifications and project schedules.

• Plan and organize site activities, manpower and work sequences for smooth project execution.

• Supervise civil, interior finishing and fit-out works, including flooring, ceiling, partitions, painting, doors, sanitary works, etc.

• Coordinate custom furniture, cabinetry, wardrobes, kitchen units, reception counters, workstations, wooden/metal works and other joinery items.

• Coordinate with architects, interior designers, clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.

• Read and interpret architectural, interior, structural and MEP drawings and resolve site-level execution issues.

• Take site measurements and assist with BOQ preparation, quantity checking, estimation and material requirements.

• Monitor material procurement, delivery, quality, usage and wastage.

• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely availability of required materials at project sites.

• Manage contractors, workers and site manpower and monitor productivity.

• Monitor project progress against the approved timeline and take necessary action to minimize delays.

• Identify site problems, technical issues and potential risks and report them to management with practical solutions.

• Maintain daily and weekly site progress reports, measurements, material records and other project documentation.

• Verify completed work and assist in checking contractor/subcontractor bills based on actual site measurements.

• Ensure quality workmanship and coordinate necessary rectification and snag completion.

• Coordinate with the design team regarding design changes, site conditions and drawing revisions.

• Maintain regular communication with clients and provide updates regarding project progress and site requirements.

• Ensure proper coordination among civil, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, interior and furniture works.

• Monitor project execution to minimize unnecessary material wastage and additional/unplanned costs.

• Conduct final inspections, prepare snag lists and coordinate rectification works before project handover.

• Ensure proper site safety, discipline and housekeeping throughout the project.

Educational Requirements

• B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.

• Diploma in Civil Engineering with relevant experience may also be considered.

Experience Requirements

• 3–6 years of relevant experience in construction, interior fit-out, architecture or real estate projects.

• Experience in interior, furniture/joinery and fit-out projects will be highly preferred.

Additional Requirements

• Good knowledge of civil construction and interior fit-out works.

• Ability to read and interpret architectural/interior drawings and understand BOQ.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel and MS Office.

• Strong contractor, vendor and site management skills.

• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and take ownership of project execution.

• Willingness to travel to different project sites.

• Valid driving license and/or motorcycle will be an advantage.
