∎ B.Sc. or Diploma in Microbiology/Chemistry/Pharmacy/Lab-technology or any other relevant discipline from any UGC approved recognized university

∎ At least 3 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and perform different physical, microbiological, chemical test available under the capacity of the laboratory. The performing test will be - pH, Temperature, EC, TDS, TSS, TS, Total Settleable Solids, NO3-N, PO4-P, NH3-N, TN, COD, BOD, E.coli, Helminths Ova etc
∎ Prepare sample collection schedule and Coordinate collecting samples from number of Fecal sludge treatment plants (FSTP) operational in Rohingya camps with support from sample collection volunteers
∎ Train the sample collector for collecting and transporting sample of Fecal sludge following standard operating procedure
∎ Based on the type of effluent collected, stages of FSTP and follow rates, guide sample collector to choose in between grab or composite sampling technique
∎ Prepare and document the sample ID, collection point/ FSTP details in prepared form. Record Chain of Custody demo form
∎ Perform and complete the test in timely manner and share the test result in excel form to relevant stakeholders in coordination with supervisor
∎ Share analysis of effluent test result with reference to the DoE sewage discharge standard guideline
∎ Building capacity of the lab assistant and take support performing different test
∎ Timely preparation Microbiological media and disposal, storage and growth promotion test & perform all necessary pre- required task needed to conduct all the tests
∎ Equipment & Reagent management - Store and manage all the reagent as per prescribed temperature and humidity. All equipment used in the lab must be maintained and calibrated accordingly
∎ Disposal of used reagents Cleaning the laboratory and all laboratory and sampling equipment that might be contaminated with faecal sludge
∎ Coordinate with different WASH agencies for sample collection and delivery, sharing results etc
∎ Represent BRAC WASH FSTP/water quality analysis reports in sector technical working groups
∎ Assist the Team Lead in designing water safety planning a response
∎ Initiate the capacity building requirement for FSM water quality team
∎ Ensure the overall FSM Water Quality Laboratory remained functional
∎ Ensure supply chain management of the laboratory. Supplies (e.g. reagents, batteries, probes, standard solutions, laboratory wares, etc.) should be kept on hand
∎ Managing day-to-day logistics, administration, and communication with sampling teams
∎ Ensure the overall Water Quality Laboratory remained functional
∎ Monthly inventory of the water quality laboratory supplies and prepare report to the team lead
∎ Maintaining Occupational health & safety measures at every level
∎ Frequent field visit at assigned working area
∎ Regularly update the supervisor on work progress
∎ Any other task assigned by supervisor
∎ Ensure the safety of lab team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so
