Education:
  • Bachelor’s in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science & Information Technology, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or other relevant subjects from any UGC approved reputed university or institute.

  • Training or certification in Monitoring & Evaluation, Data Analysis, or Project Management will be considered an advantage.

  • Knowledge of specialized software (SPSS, STATA, Power BI, or similar) is desirable.

Additional Requirements:

• Strong understanding of monitoring, evaluation, accountability systems, donor reporting requirements, and humanitarian standards, including safeguarding and Do No Harm principles.

• Proficient in MIS platforms, database management, data validation, and use of digital data collection tools (ODK, KoBo, Google Forms, TARO, Power BI).

• Solid knowledge of statistical methods, survey design, sampling techniques, and both quantitative and qualitative research approaches.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and generate actionable, evidence-based recommendations.

• Strong reporting, documentation, and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize findings into clear, structured reports for management and donors.

• Advanced skills in data visualization and dashboard development using Excel and other analytical tools.

• Effective communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams, communities, and stakeholders, including conducting trainings and workshops.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently, meet tight deadlines, and contribute to team collaboration and continuous improvement.



Responsibilities & Context:

BRAC is an international development organisation founded in Bangladesh in 1972 that partners globally with over 100 million people living with inequality and poverty to create opportunities to realise their potential.

The Senior Project Officer M&E supports the design, implementation, and strengthening of monitoring and evaluation systems to ensure program quality, accountability, and learning. The role oversees data collection, validation, analysis, and reporting, while assisting with MIS platforms and field-level database tracking to support evidence-based decision-making.

  • Design, adapt, and manage M&E frameworks, plans, and Indicator Tracking Tables aligned with program indicators and strategic plans.

  • Develop and update monitoring tools (surveys, FGDs, KIIs, satisfaction forms and children mechanism tools, baselines, endlines) ensuring quality data collection and analysis.

  • Conduct regular field visits and spot checks to verify data quality, provide technical guidance, and build staff capacity in M&E tools.

  • Perform Data Quality Assessments (DQA) to validate completeness, accuracy, and reliability of datasets.

  • Assist in managing MIS platforms, ensuring timely and accurate data entry, validation, and storage across project locations.

  • Track field-level databases, support data cleaning, and ensure validated information is available for reporting.

  • Generate regular and ad hoc reports for management, donors, and stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

  • Document lessons learned, case studies, and best practices for program learning and improvement.

  • Support mid-term and final evaluations, learning workshops, and program reviews.

  • Facilitate beneficiary feedback mechanisms and accountability systems, ensuring responsiveness to community needs.

  • Provide regular updates and presentations of monitoring findings to management and stakeholders.

  • Ensure safeguarding standards and Do No Harm principles are integrated into all monitoring activities.

  • Support donor reporting through accurate indicator tracking, beneficiary counts, and drafting M&E sections of reports.

  • Maintain coordination with MEAL, Finance, HR, and Operations teams to ensure integrated monitoring and reporting.

  • Build capacity of field staff and partners on survey design, methodology, data collection, and analysis.

  • Mentor enumerators and data collectors on data cleaning, validation, and consolidation of monthly reports.

  • Develop beneficiary tracking tools with required disaggregation in line with donor and Activity Info requirements.

  • Evaluate the relevance and effectiveness of monitoring tools periodically to maximize efficiency and data utilization.

  • Contribute to program planning and decision-making by providing evidence-based recommendations from monitoring findings.

  • Ensure timely submission of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual monitoring reports.

Safeguarding

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action. 

  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
