∎ Job Summary:
∎ The MMWW project aims to promote women agri-entrepreneurs, to lead transformational change in existing market system. Through improved access to market, quality public services, skills development and opportunities for sustainable income sources and representation in decision making processes, it is expected that women entrepreneurs will engage better with their businesses
∎ The Senior Officer -Advocacy is expected to support advocacy and campaign interventions of MMWW project. S/he will primarily be responsible for networking with key stakeholders and communicating project outcomes for advocacy purposes at the local and national levels. In this regard, s/he is expected to facilitate relevant ministries and departments to strengthen the engagement of women entrepreneurs and establishing women friendly market spaces in mainstream marketplaces.
∎ Under the direct supervision of the Project Coordinator (PC), the Senior Officer - Advocacy will undertake the following responsibilities and tasks but keeping in mind s/he should be flexible and able to adapt to the changing context and perform tasks as necessary related to the project.
∎ Relationships:S/he will report to Project Coordinator - Making Market Work for Women (MMWW) Project.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
∎ Advocacy and Campaign:
∎ Work with local and national level stakeholders to create market environment and business space of the existing market system for women entrepreneurs;
∎ Initiate advocacy with Local Government Division (LGD) to introduce a legislative obligation to include women representatives in the market committee to ensure WE's interest and create an inclusive environment for their businesses. As of now, inclusion of women representatives in the market committee is optional;
∎ Facilitate market committee led advocacy initiatives with union parishad, upazila parishad and Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) and other development projects to extend facilities (market shed, WASH facilities etc.) for WEs in more marketplaces (Hat, Bazar, Growth centres etc.);
∎ Advocate with Ministry of Women and Child Affairs (MOWCA) to extend Joyeeta in district level to create an opportunity for Women Entrepreneurs to promote their products; and unions and upazila parishads to construct more collection points utilising ADP allocation and LGSP budget beyond the project period;
∎ Strengthen its advocacy through Community Clinic Management Committee to introduce flexi hours in the remaining 9 CCs and also increase its advocacy efforts through CC/ WE associations with local and national level health authorities to make the flexi time compulsory for other community clinics;
∎ Strengthen advocacy efforts with relevant government agencies (i.e. Department of Youth Development, Dept. of Women and Child Development) at the union and upazila levels obtain trade certificates and registration;
∎ Facilitate advocacy efforts with big byers and online platforms to source relevant products from remaining 100 WE group;
∎ Support in bringing together women entrepreneur-led/involving networks, alliances and CSOs along with progressive private sector institutions to advocate and lobby on women friendly market spaces;
∎ Reporting and documentation:
∎ Support the preparation of TORs for research partners, training modules, press releases, as well as, specific components within quarterly, half-yearly and annual reports to the government and donor;
∎ Identify lessons learnt and best practices for knowledge sharing and development of knowledge products; and
∎ Support preparation and dissemination of MMWW promotional materials to mainstream, social media and development partners;
∎ Programme support:
∎ Provide support to project personnel, partners and service providers to deliver specific activities at the local, sub-national and national levels;
∎ Support in organising meetings/workshops at the local and national levels; and
∎ Any other task as assigned by organization;

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 4 years or more of sound technical experience in women and agriculture sector, particularly around networking and advocacy on women agri-entrepreneur-specific issues with relevant Govt. departments and ministries
∎ Extensive experience in the Agricultural Marketing sector, capacity development or related fields.
∎ Required Competencies:
∎ Technical:
∎ Demonstrated competence skills in report writing and documentation in English and Bangla
∎ Excellent knowledge and use of internet, social media and office software packages (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel etc.)

Salary:
∎ Monthly Gross Salary will be BDT. 68,341 with other admissible benefits such as medical benefit, group life insurance etc
