Job Context:
∎ Purpose
∎ This position will act as HCMP focal point to coordinate and support on communication and branding issues of Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP). Maintain active coordination between BRAC head office communication team, HCMP sectors and programmes, local journalists, newspaper, Govt. officials in Cox`s Bazar to strengthen communication supports under the supervision of Area Director, HCMP.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop communications strategy by collaborating with the Management & Leadership Team of Humanitarian Crisis Management Programme (HCMP).
∎ Lead & guide the HCMP communication team to drive high level communication initiatives.
∎ Ensure visible positioning of HCMP and BRAC both in national and global platform.
∎ Maintain regular communication & coordination with partners/ donors for implementing high standard program activities and advocacy with the relevant stakeholders.
∎ Maintain regular communication with local & national newspaper journalists, TV journalists and ensure necessary information disseminated all over the HCMP through bulletin, situation reports, fact-sheets, and other sort of reports as required.
∎ Prepare case and circulate for knowledge sharing among staff and other stakeholders.
∎ Ensure BRAC branding among HCMP staff, donors, other NGOs, local administration, Govt. officials and other internal & external stakeholders.
∎ Participate in management meetings and play advocacy role in various important issues having connection with communication.
∎ Play the focal role in safeguarding BRAC image among all stakeholders of HCMP, and add value in safeguarding BRAC image in national & global platforms.
∎ Represent BRAC in sectoral coordination meeting.
∎ Carry out capacity building/ initiatives for the various sectors within BRAC.
∎ Ensure periodic report to management and donor and contribute to BRAC's learning.
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 08 years of work experience in communication of development/ humanitarian field or any other relevant organisation is required.
∎ Commitment to an understanding of BRAC core values and principles
∎ Have sound knowledge on development sector, global development scenario to identify funding trends, contemporary communication practices and platforms, media engagement etc.
∎ Excellent skills in strategic communication, relationship building, project management, event management, fundraising, public speaking, creative writing, blogging and visual storytelling
∎ Have effective acquaintance with people management
