∎ JOB PURPOSE
∎ This position will be responsible for managing the maintenance of Book of Accounts, maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, donor and management reports. The incumbent will be responsible for all areas relating to financial report, ensuring accountability & transparency and will be involved with budget activities as well.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Manage the maintenance of book of accounts as required by income tax, vat rules, company act and other relevant acts of microcredit.
∎ Follow up reviewing of monthly draft accounts and ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
∎ Ensure preparation of fund requisition along with necessary supporting documents.
∎ Review financial reports and budget with necessary statements as per contract/ agreement/ MOU.
∎ Improve financial status by analysing results, monitoring variances, identifying trends, recommending actions to management.
∎ Manage the fund transfer from designated bank accounts of assigned projects to BRAC's operational bank accounts.
∎ Meeting with programme personnel to solve various finance and accounting related problems.
∎ Maintain proper coordination with the internal and external auditors and satisfy audit queries to ensure that unqualified reports are issued.
∎ Collaborate with other finance department's managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
∎ Avoid legal challenges by understanding current and proposed legislation, enforcing accounting regulations and recommending new procedures.
∎ Respond to inquiries from the Director; Finance, Head of Accounts, Programme Directors, and other finance and organisation wide managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests.
∎ Assist in development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
∎ Handle personnel issues relating to staff conflicts, absenteeism, performance issues, etc.
∎ Provide training to new and existing staff as needed.
∎ Work with NGOAB team for preparing FD7/ FD6/ FC1 and also prepare FD4 accounts and act as a focal point of internal audit, statutory audit and donor audit for projects.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 05 years' of work experience in the fields of Accounts/ Finance/ Budget/ Audit/ Tax/ VAT is preferred.
∎ Strong knowledge on Accounting, Finance, Audit, Budget and Tax/ VAT.
∎ Good written and oral communication skills.
∎ Proficiency in using different computer applications and should be able to thrive in a fast -pace setting.
∎ Ability to think strategically and carry out assigned tasks independently.
∎ Facilitating and encouraging open communication in the team and should be able to make transparent decisions.
∎ Ability to contribute effectively as part of a team and ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meeting deadlines.
∎ Proactive, highly motivated and able to use initiative to a significant degree.
∎ Demonstrated ability to work in a team and to develop networks and collaborations accordingly.
