Job Responsibilities:
∎ Fabric Development: Lead and coordinate the development of new fabrics and textiles. Collaborate with design teams to understand their requirements and vision for new products. Conduct research on innovative fabric materials and technologies, and work with suppliers to source suitable fabrics.
∎ Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce rigorous quality assurance procedures for fabric testing and evaluation. Conduct inspections and tests to assess fabric performance, durability, colorfastness, shrinkage, strength, and other relevant properties. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
∎ Performance Analysis: Analyze and interpret data from fabric testing to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Recommend changes to fabric compositions or manufacturing processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
∎ Supplier Management: Collaborate with fabric suppliers to establish strong relationships and negotiate terms. Conduct regular supplier evaluations and audits to ensure they meet quality and ethical standards. Work with suppliers to resolve any fabric-related issues promptly.
∎ Cost Management: Assist in controlling fabric-related costs by identifying cost-effective sourcing options without compromising quality. Optimize fabric usage and wastage to minimize expenses.
∎ Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with design, production, and product development teams to align on fabric requirements, specifications, and timelines. Work together to solve any fabric-related challenges during the product development process.
∎ Trend Forecasting: Stay updated with the latest fabric trends, advancements, and innovations in the textile industry. Integrate this knowledge into fabric development plans to ensure products remain competitive and up-to-date.
∎ Compliance and Sustainability: Stay informed about environmental and ethical standards in fabric production and work towards adopting sustainable practices. Ensure that fabrics and suppliers meet all necessary compliance requirements.
∎ Documentation: Maintain detailed records of fabric testing, evaluations, and specifications. Create reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
∎ Any other relevant responsibilities assigned by the Management
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 45 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ At least 10 year(s) in denim textile will be preferable/ woven denim manufacturing industries;
∎ In-depth knowledge of fabric properties, manufacturing processes, and testing methods.
∎ Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to textiles and fabrics.
∎ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
∎ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for effective collaboration with various teams and suppliers.
∎ A keen eye for detail and a passion for staying updated on the latest fabric trends and technologies.
