Experience:

• 5 to 7 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Garments

• Bachelor of Science (BSc)
• Diploma in Textile Engineering

• BSc or Diploma in Textile, Garments, or Apparel-related subjects will be preferred.

• Relevant technical training in garment cutting will be an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in garment cutting, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role.

• Experience in a knit composite garment factory will be preferred.

• Experience with export-oriented garment production and international buyer requirements will be an advantage.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of knit garment cutting procedures.

• Good knowledge of fabric shrinkage, spreading, relaxation, marker and cutting techniques.

• Knowledge of fabric consumption, marker efficiency and wastage control.

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and responsible Asst. Manager- Cutting to supervise the overall cutting operations and ensure accurate, efficient, and timely cutting of knit garments according to approved patterns, marker plans, fabric requirements, and production schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Cutting Production Management

• Supervise day-to-day cutting operations according to the production plan and shipment requirements.

• Ensure cutting is completed as per approved Marker, Pattern, Tech Pack, Cutting Plan, and Production Order.

• Monitor daily cutting targets and ensure timely completion.

• Coordinate with Planning, Production, Merchandising, and Store departments to ensure uninterrupted cutting operations.

Fabric & Marker Control

• Ensure proper fabric spreading according to fabric type, width, GSM, shade, and relaxation requirements.

• Check fabric rolls before spreading and identify fabric defects, shade variation, and other abnormalities.

• Ensure proper fabric relaxation before cutting as required.

• Control fabric consumption and minimize fabric wastage.

• Ensure correct marker placement and maximum marker efficiency.

• Monitor end-bit and leftover fabric utilization.

Cutting Accuracy & Quality

• Ensure cutting is carried out according to approved patterns and measurements.

• Check the first cut panel before proceeding with bulk cutting.

• Ensure proper numbering, bundling, ticketing and sorting of cut panels.

• Prevent mixing of sizes, colors, lots and shades.

• Ensure cut panels are free from defects such as inaccurate cutting, notches, drill-hole errors and measurement deviations.

• Coordinate with the Quality Department to resolve cutting-related quality issues.

Spreading & Cutting Machine Control

• Supervise fabric spreading and ensure correct lay height and lay length.

• Ensure proper handling and operation of cutting machines such as Straight Knife, Band Knife, and Round Knife where applicable.

• Ensure cutting machines are operated safely and efficiently.

• Coordinate with Maintenance for machine breakdowns and preventive maintenance.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with factory SOPs, buyer requirements, and quality standards.

• Maintain proper cutting quality records and inspection reports.

• Participate in internal, buyer, and compliance audits when required.

• Ensure safe working practices and proper housekeeping in the cutting section.

Team Supervision

• Supervise Cutting Officers, Spreaders, Cutters, Helpers and Bundling personnel.

• Allocate manpower according to production requirements.

• Monitor worker performance and productivity.

• Provide necessary training and guidance to cutting personnel.

• Maintain discipline and ensure compliance with factory policies.

Production Reporting

• Prepare daily cutting production reports.

• Monitor planned vs. actual cutting quantity.

• Report fabric shortages, defects, cutting problems and production delays to management.

• Maintain records of fabric consumption, wastage and cutting efficiency.

• Follow up on pending cutting orders and ensure timely completion.
