About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced R&D Merchandiser (Sweater) to join our product development team. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of sweater manufacturing, yarn sourcing, product development, and buyer communication. This role will be responsible for driving innovative sweater developments and ensuring timely execution of seasonal collections.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sweater product development from concept to sample approval.

• Research and develop new yarns, knit structures, stitches, washes, and embellishment techniques.

• Coordinate with buyers, designers, sourcing teams, and factories to develop innovative products.

• Prepare product costing and consumption analysis.

• Follow up on sample development according technical requirements.

• Source suitable yarns, trims, and accessories based on buyer requirements.

• Monitor development timelines and ensure on-time sample submission.

• Analyze fashion trends and market developments to propose new product ideas.

• Maintain development records, critical path reports, and merchandising documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Textile Engineering, Apparel Manufacturing, Fashion Design, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in sweater merchandising and product development.

• Strong knowledge of sweater knitting, gauges, yarns, stitches, and garment construction.

• Experience working with international buyers and brands.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power point.

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple developments simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with European and North American buyers.

• Strong sourcing network for yarns and sweater accessories.

• Knowledge of sustainability and innovative sweater materials.
