Educational Requirements:
∎ Master of Law (LLM)
∎ Enrolled as an advocate in Bangladesh Bar Council.

Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 7 year(s)

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Lead and Coordinate all activities of Legal protection Team.
∎ Supervise the Staff lawyers, Legal Officers, paralegals placed in the camps
∎ Design and Develop Capacity Building of Legal staffs through need assessments.
∎ Representing any clients in court if need be.
∎ Design the vision of the legal advocacy program.
∎ Manage complex or high-risk cases
∎ Attending camp coordination meetings and advocacy meetings with external partners
∎ Manage a multi-sectoral team of staff Lawyers, legal officers, paralegals, panel lawyers.
∎ Liaise, cooperate and create partnerships with other organizations to ensure cohesive service coverage
∎ Conduct regular legal consultations with refugee community to ensure feedback on services
∎ Ensure ongoing monitoring and evaluation of projects on site
∎ Manage budget and expenses of Legal Protection activities
∎ Work with donors to create ongoing partnerships
∎ Integrate gender-mainstreaming principles throughout legal protection activities
∎ Train BRAC team on legal Protection principles, SGBV principles, and service provision and refugee rights.
∎ Provide technical support to the Legal Protection team to ensure a high standard of implementation of strategy and activities
∎ Develop proposals, budgets, result frameworks for the project implementation
∎ Prepare periodic reports (narrative and quantitative) for donors, government and organization
∎ Attend visitor from inside and outside BRAC as suggested by Senior Management
∎ Maintain regular communication with probable donor for creating further funding opportunities
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme's goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum Seven years of experience in relevant sectors including three years working experience in NGO/INGO preferred.
∎ Proven experience in Project management & implementation.
∎ Sound Knowledge in Sexual & Gender Based Violence in emergency context
∎ Sound knowledge and understanding of theories, concepts and approaches relevant to the International Human Rights Law, International Humanitarian Law, National Laws, SGBV context.
∎ Good Knowledge of Project Planning and implementation.
∎ Proven skills and competencies to work as a team lead.
∎ Knowledge on managing Budget and developing PPA
∎ English: fluency in the language, expected to work independently using the language required, to prepare a variety of written communications (correspondence, reports, working papers, etc.), to participate actively in meetings and in work related discussions.
∎ Teamwork spirit and community mobilization skills
∎ Excellent communication and articulation skills, awareness of socio-economic, cultural and political sensitivities
