Responsibilities & Context:

The Society for Health Extension and Development (SHED), a national NGO dedicated to serving communities in Cox's Bazar and Noakhali, is currently looking for experienced professionals. We are implementing a multi-sectoral project, "Improve access to lifesaving nutrition and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) services to reduce vulnerability and health risks among Rohingya refugees and host populations in Cox’s Bazar," with support from ACF. This project, which is funded by CDCS, will be active from September 2025 to June 30, 2026. We invite applications from qualified candidates for the position listed below:

Job Location/Base: Ukhiya, Cox’s Bazar

Reports to: Deputy Director & Sector Focal for Health and Nutrition

Contract Duration: Up to June 2026

The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, supervision, and reporting of nutrition and health interventions. The role requires close collaboration with SHED, ACF, government health facilities, nutrition sectors, and community stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of project results and quality services for pregnant and lactating women, infants under six months, and children under five.

Responsibilities

Objective 1: Ensure timely and effective execution of all project activities in line with project objectives, donor requirements, and organizational standards.

  • Develop detailed implementation plans (DIP) and activity schedules.
  • Supervise field teams in delivering nutrition, SRH, child health, and MHPSS interventions.
  • Monitor adherence to management  at risk <6 months and their Mother SoP, CMAM, and maternal health protocols at health facility and community levels.

Objective 2: Strengthen staff, volunteers, and health service providers’ technical capacity and ensure service quality through adherence to national guidelines and project protocols.

  • Organize and assist in training for health staff, midwives, and volunteers on management  at risk <6 months and their mothers, CMAM, quality ANC/PNC, and integrated MHPSS services.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring during field visits.
  • Coordinate with the ACF program manager and Head of Department for conducting regular supportive supervision and knowledge transfer.

Objective 3: Foster collaboration with ACF, government health services, local authorities, Nutrition Sector and community structures for integrated and sustainable service delivery.

  • Act as the focal point for coordination with ACF, local health facilities, and the Upazila Health Complex.
  • Participate in health/nutrition coordination forums at the local level.
  • Engage with community leaders and government representatives for validation of household lists, maternal cash beneficiary lists, nutrition voucher distribution, and referral mechanisms.

Objective 4: Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and learning for accountability to stakeholders, donors, and beneficiaries.

  • Work with ACF MEAL teams to implement monitoring frameworks, household verification, and beneficiary tracking.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and final narrative progress reports.
  • Document best practices, lessons learned, and challenges for program improvement and donor communication.

Objective 5: Ensure efficient use of project resources, proper risk management, and effective leadership of the field team.

  • Supervise and manage project staff, including midwives, MHPSS counsellors, nurses, and volunteers.
  • Oversee financial and logistical resources in compliance with SHED and donor guidelines.
  • Identify risks (operational, external, and community-related) and propose mitigation strategies.

Objective 6:  Proactively support SHED and donor commitments to gender equality, safeguarding, child protection, and disability sensitivity report.

  • Implement all work-related activities with a gender, disability and child protection lens, taking into account the different needs, concerns and ideas of our staff and beneficiaries;
  • Ensure the incorporation of PSEA and gender equity principles in all policies and activities;
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to a manageable disability.
