  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), databases, and internet use.

  • Ability to collect information in English and prepare basic reports.

  • Valid driving license and access to a computer and smartphone.

Responsibilities & Context:

Organization Overview:

Barinagar Society for Social Welfare (BSKS) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-communal, and non-profit local development organization established in 1988. The organization works to reduce the suffering of poor and disadvantaged people and improve their socio-economic conditions, prioritizing persons with disabilities, women, and children in all development initiatives.

BSKS is implementing the “Body Talk 2.0” project in Jashore district, with financial and technical support from Liliane Fonds and the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). A key focus of the project is SRHR ensuring access to accurate information and services while promoting informed decision-making about one’s body and reproductive health. The initiative aims to empower children and youth with disabilities and foster a more inclusive, safe, and accessible society.

Job Overview:

The Project Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and supporting SRHR activities, ensuring the active participation and empowerment of children and youth with disabilities across education, health, livelihoods, social participation, and empowerment. The role involves collaborating with families, community partners, and service providers to create a capable and inclusive environment.

Program: Body Talk 2.0.

Reporting To: Project Focal / Project Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the project team for smooth implementation.

  • Mobilize and encourage local communities to actively participate in SRHR activities.

  • Work with families and communities to ensure the SRHR rights of children and youth with disabilities are recognized and upheld.

  • Support families and communities in raising SRHR awareness, conducting preventive discussions, identifying issues, making referrals, and following up.

  • Conduct home visits to enhance SRHR knowledge and skills of children and youth with disabilities.

  • Identify SRHR service needs, refer individuals to appropriate services, and ensure follow-up.

  • Promote inclusive economic and social empowerment opportunities within communities.

  • Participate in community program planning, implementation, and reporting.

  • Collaborate with local government, service providers, and NGOs to ensure SRHR service delivery.

  • Actively involve children and youth with disabilities in program activities, ensuring their meaningful participation.

  • Mobilize local resources and facilities to support SRHR initiatives.

  • Educate families and communities on mental health, hygiene, sanitation, and basic health practices.

  • Develop Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs) incorporating SRHR and overall health and empowerment goals.

  • Assist in organizing health and SRHR camps within the community.

  • Supervise daily activities of CBR workers, ensuring program quality and an inclusive environment.
