Responsibilities & Context:

Organization Overview:

Barinagar Samaj Kallyan Sangstha (BSKS) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-sectarian, and non-profit local development organization established in 1988. BSKS works to alleviate the suffering of poor and underprivileged populations, focusing on improving their socio-economic conditions. All projects prioritize persons with disabilities, women, and children.

BSKS is implementing the “Body Talk 2.0” project in Jashore district with financial and technical support from Liliane Fonds and the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD). A key focus is SRHR ensuring access to correct information, appropriate services, and empowering children and youth with disabilities to make informed decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health.

Job Overview:

The SRHR Facilitator will be directly involved in the field-level implementation of SRHR activities, focusing on the inclusion and empowerment of children and youth with disabilities. The role involves engaging families, communities, and local stakeholders to ensure access to SRHR knowledge, services, and social participation, while promoting inclusive, safe, and informed decision-making.

Program: Body Talk 2.0 – SRHR Component.

Location: Jashore.

Reporting To: Project Coordinator.

Community Engagement & SRHR Awareness:

• Sensitize families and communities on SRHR rights, disability inclusion, and gender-sensitive practices.

• Support early identification of SRHR needs among children and youth with disabilities.

• Facilitate inclusive participation of children and youth in SRHR-related educational and social activities.

• Conduct home visits to provide SRHR knowledge, counseling, and life-skill guidance.

• Promote preventive health discussions, referrals, and follow-ups tailored to family and community needs.

Capacity Building & Training Support:

• Support trainings and awareness sessions on SRHR for caregivers, children, youth, and community members.

• Assist CBR workers in developing Individual Development Plans incorporating SRHR.

• Conduct community workshops and peer-learning sessions to enhance SRHR knowledge and practices.

Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting:

• Document field activities, lessons learned, and success stories related to SRHR.

• Prepare reports on SRHR outreach and share with Project Coordinator and donors.

• Ensure proper record-keeping of children and youth SRHR data.

Collaboration & Advocacy:

• Collaborate with local government, service providers, and NGOs to strengthen SRHR service delivery.

• Advocate for inclusive SRHR practices in education, healthcare, and social participation.

• Engage youth and families in community-level SRHR advocacy and awareness campaigns.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Support community resource mobilization to enhance SRHR initiatives.

• Promote mental health, hygiene, and safe sexual practices at household and community levels.

• Facilitate referrals to SRHR services, healthcare, and counseling facilities as required.

• Perform other duties assigned by Project Coordinator related to SRHR programming.
