Experience:
Master’s degree in Law, Human Rights, Public Policy, Development Studies, Political Science, or a related discipline.
Minimum 8–10 years of professional experience in human rights, governance, policy advocacy, or civil society development.
Demonstrated experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and policy dialogue facilitation.
Strong understanding of human rights institutions, legal frameworks, and governance processes in Bangladesh.
Experience working with civil society coalitions, research initiatives, and advocacy campaigns will be an advantage.
Excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills in English and Bangla.
Strong leadership, coordination, and team management skills.
Commitment to human rights, equality, and social justice.
Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders including civil society organizations, policymakers, and media.
Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) is a national non-governmental legal services organization committed to advancing human rights, equality, and justice for all. BLAST provides legal aid to marginalized communities while undertaking strategic litigation, research, advocacy, and capacity building to promote systemic reforms and accountability.
BLAST is implementing a project titled “Supporting CSO Advocacy for a Robust Human Rights System in Bangladesh”, supported by the Danish Institute of Human Rights (DIHR). The project aims to strengthen civil society engagement with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), promote accountability, and enhance public dialogue on human rights issues in Bangladesh.

Position: Position: Team Leader (Project Lead)
Position Summary: The Team Leader will provide overall strategic, technical, and managerial leadership for the project. The role involves coordinating civil society advocacy initiatives, overseeing research and policy engagement activities, and ensuring effective implementation of project interventions aimed at strengthening the national human rights system and the role of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities:
Lead overall planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities in line with project objectives and timelines.
Facilitate the establishment and functioning of a Civil Society Working Group on Human Rights Issues, including coordination with the Citizen’s Platform for SDGs and other civil society organizations.
Provide strategic direction for the development and implementation of a civil society advocacy roadmap to strengthen the NHRC and national human rights accountability mechanisms.
Coordinate and supervise research activities, including the commissioning of a comprehensive study on the national human rights system.
Lead stakeholder engagement with government institutions, political parties, the NHRC, and civil society partners.
Organize and facilitate policy dialogues, consultations, and advocacy initiatives under the project.
Provide oversight and guidance to project staff and consultants to ensure quality implementation of activities.
Maintain coordination with project partner organizations, including the Danish Institute of Human Rights (DIHR).
Ensure effective monitoring, documentation, and reporting of project activities in accordance with BLAST and donor requirements.
Represent BLAST in relevant meetings, events, and policy forums related to the project.
