Experience:
Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Law, Human Rights, Development Studies, Public Policy, or a related field.
Minimum 5–7 years of relevant experience in advocacy, communications, media engagement, or public policy initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in strategic communication, advocacy campaigns, and public engagement.
Experience producing policy briefs, advocacy materials, and digital communication content.
Strong writing and editing skills in English and Bangla.
Experience working with civil society organizations, media, and policy stakeholders will be an advantage.
Strong interpersonal and networking skills.
Ability to communicate complex policy issues in accessible formats.

Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST) is a national non-governmental legal services organization committed to advancing human rights, equality, and justice for all. BLAST provides legal aid to marginalized communities while undertaking strategic litigation, research, advocacy, and capacity building to promote systemic reforms and accountability.
BLAST is implementing a project titled “Supporting CSO Advocacy for a Robust Human Rights System in Bangladesh”, supported by the Danish Institute of Human Rights (DIHR). The project aims to strengthen civil society engagement with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), promote accountability, and enhance public dialogue on human rights issues in Bangladesh.

Position: Advocacy and Communication Specialist
Position Summary: The Advocacy and Communication Specialist will lead the advocacy and communication components of the project. The role will focus on developing advocacy strategies, producing policy and communication materials, strengthening media engagement, and supporting public awareness initiatives related to the national human rights system and the role of the NHRC.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the project’s advocacy and communication strategy.
Support the preparation and dissemination of the Civil Society Advocacy Roadmap on strengthening the NHRC.
Prepare policy briefs, analytical notes, advocacy materials, and communication content related to human rights issues.
Coordinate media engagement activities, including journalist briefings, press outreach, and media roundtables.
Design and implement digital and social media campaigns to raise public awareness on the NHRC mandate and human rights issues.
Develop communication materials such as infographics, short videos, and campaign messages.
Support documentation and dissemination of research findings, policy dialogues, and project outcomes.
Maintain liaison with journalists, media outlets, and advocacy partners.
Assist in organizing policy dialogues, consultations, and stakeholder engagement events.
Contribute to project monitoring, documentation, and reporting.
