Job Responsibilities & Context

• Read and interpret piping isometric drawings, fabrication drawings, and engineering layouts.

• Measure, mark, cut, bevel, and prepare pipes according to drawings and specifications.

• Fabricate and install carbon steel, stainless steel, and other piping systems.

• Fit pipes, flanges, elbows, tees, reducers, valves, and other pipe fittings.

• Perform pipe alignment, leveling, and positioning before welding.

• Prepare pipe joints and ensure proper fit-up for welding.

• Fabricate and install pipe supports, brackets, and related steel structures.

• Use measuring tools, cutting machines, grinders, and other workshop/site equipment safely.

• Inspect fabricated and installed piping for dimensions, alignment, and workmanship.

• Coordinate with welders, supervisors, engineers, and other site personnel to complete work efficiently.

• Follow project specifications, quality standards, and occupational health and safety procedures.

• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials.

• Perform repair, modification, maintenance, and replacement of piping components as required.

Job Context:
The position involves working in industrial, construction, manufacturing, plant, or project sites where piping fabrication and installation activities are carried out. The employee may work in workshops and on-site, often requiring physical work, teamwork, and adherence to strict safety and quality requirements.
