Akij Essentials Trading Ltd (a concern of Akij Resource Ltd.) is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Officer / Senior Officer – Lighter Operation & Billing to support and manage lighter vessel operations and related billing activities. The role involves close coordination with carriers, ghats, vessel operators, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth lighter operations, accurate billing, and timely disbursement.
This position requires strong operational knowledge, billing accuracy, and the ability to resolve operational issues efficiently while maintaining compliance with company and port regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Process lighter bills received from carriers and ensure timely verification and disbursement as per company policy.
Regularly collect and update lighter operation status from ghats and report operational progress to management.
Identify and mitigate operational issues related to fuel consumption, delays, or operational inefficiencies in coordination with management.
Coordinate and support repair and maintenance activities of lighter vessels and mother vessels when required.
Stay updated with the latest rate charts and tariff structures of Chattogram and Khulna ports.
Maintain records of draft survey reports, operational logs, and various ghat-related documents.
Ensure proper documentation of vessel movements, billing statements, and operational reports.
Coordinate with internal departments such as accounts, procurement, and logistics for smooth operations.
Support compliance with port authority rules, safety standards, and internal audit requirements.
