Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Chemical Engineering / Environmental Science or related discipline from public or well reputed private universities.

• Professional certification/ training will be an added advantage.

• At least 4 years
• The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s): Manufacturing (FMCG), Garments, Textile, Tannery/Footwear

• Candidates with strong knowledge of chemical management and ZDHC platform will be given preference.

• Practical knowledge of ZDHC Gateway, MRSL Conformance and Chemical Inventory Management.

• Understanding of CAS number system and chemical documentation.

• Able to identification of risk and mitigation of risk.

• Experience in facing social compliance and environmental audits.

•  Knowledge of chemical storage standards, labeling and MSDS/SDS management.

• Good communication and reporting skills.

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.

• Maintain and implement Chemical Management System (CMS) in the factory in line with international standards.

• Manage and maintain chemical inventory including Chemical Abstract Service (CAS) information and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

• Ensure compliance with Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals requirements including ZDHC Gateway usage and chemical conformance.

• Monitor and ensure compliance with MRSL (Manufacturing Restricted Substances List) and RSL requirements.

• Conduct chemical risk assessments and ensure safe transportation, storage, labeling, handling and use of chemicals.

• Coordinate chemical testing, documentation and traceability.

• Prepare and maintain documents related to social compliance and chemical compliance audits (BSCI, SMETA, Higg Index/ BEPI brand audits, etc.).

• Conduct training and awareness programs for all concerned employees (Procurement, Store, Users) on chemical safety and management.

• Coordinate with production, warehouse, EHS and compliance teams to ensure proper chemical handling and usage.

• Support sustainability initiatives and buyer requirements related to chemical management.
