• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering, Architecture

1. Design and develop cabinets, wardrobes, storage units, kitchen cabinets, TV cabinets, office cabinets, bookshelves, shoe cabinets and other related furniture products.

2. Prepare furniture concepts, sketches, detailed drawings and 3D models based on market requirements and company specifications.

3. Develop accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, dimensions, specifications and production drawings.

4. Prepare and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM), material specifications, hardware specifications and cutting details where required.

5. Ensure designs are suitable for mass production, easy assembly, structurally sound and cost-effective.

6. Select appropriate materials such as plywood, MDF, particle board, solid wood, veneer, laminate, PVC, metal, glass and related hardware/accessories.

7. Design and specify suitable hinges, drawer slides, handles, locks, connectors, brackets, lifting mechanisms, and other furniture fittings.

8. Work on design modifications based on production feasibility, customer requirements, quality issues and management feedback.

9. Develop prototypes and coordinate with the production team for sample development.

10. Conduct design reviews and identify opportunities for improvement in functionality, aesthetics, durability and cost.

11. Maintain proper documentation and revision control of all drawings and design-related documents.

12. Support the development of new furniture collections and product ranges.

13. Perform any other design and product-development-related responsibilities assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• B.Sc. / B.Arch. / Bachelor’s degree in Furniture Design, Interior Design, Industrial Design, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering or a relevant discipline.

• Relevant professional experience in furniture design, cabinet design, product design, or furniture manufacturing will be preferred.

Required Skills & Expertise:

• Strong knowledge of Furniture & Cabinet Design.

• Excellent understanding of furniture construction, materials, hardware, fittings, and manufacturing processes.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is required.

• Knowledge of SketchUp / 3ds Max / SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / other 3D design software will be an advantage.

• Ability to prepare detailed production drawings and technical specifications.

• Good understanding of cutting dimensions, joinery, edge banding, drilling, assembly, and finishing.
