Responsibilities & Context:
Assume full accountability for project delivery from Development NTP through COD and all contractual milestones, including Financial Close, RFC, Provisional and Final Acceptance.
Develop and implement project execution strategy, governance, stage-gate processes, reporting, decision-making, escalation, and management controls.
Ensure alignment with shareholder requirements, financing agreements, Board resolutions, budgets, contracts, and project schedule, cost, quality, HSE, risk, and operational objectives.
Lead project reviews and report KPIs, status, critical risks, and recovery plans to the Managing Director, Board, shareholders, and lenders.
Lead engagement with lenders, DFIs, banks, ECAs, investment funds, financial advisors, and technical, legal, insurance, E&S, and other advisors.
Support fundraising, due diligence, Financial Close, and ongoing compliance with financing agreements, lender covenants, reserve requirements, and reporting obligations.
Manage relationships with government, regulators, utilities, grid operators, off-takers, local authorities, landowners, and communities on approvals, grid connection, dispatch, and operations.
Oversee development activities, land acquisition, site readiness, permitting, environmental, water, grid, and statutory approvals, resolving constraints affecting financing or schedule.
Lead technical execution and manage the OE, design consultants, engineering advisors, and technical specialists.
Review key engineering deliverables, specifications, design changes, and value engineering, ensuring compliance with EPC, lender, industry, grid, and regulatory requirements.
Manage technical reviews and interfaces among EPC contractors, OEMs, OE, utilities, grid operators, and lenders’ technical consultants.
Administer EPC, OE, land, transmission, insurance, and major vendor contracts, managing compliance, claims, variations, EOTs, disputes, and contractor KPIs.
Approve procurement strategies and monitor critical/long-lead equipment, LCs, POs, logistics, delivery, and supply-chain risk mitigation.
Establish project risk management and controls covering risk registers, mitigation, contingency, recovery, schedule, cost, progress, forecasting, and executive escalation.
Lead HSES performance and safety culture, ensuring compliance with company standards, regulations, IFC Performance Standards, ESIA commitments, and lender ESG requirements.
Lead incident investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned, driving zero fatalities, zero major environmental incidents, and minimum lost-time injuries.
Manage CAPEX/OPEX budgets, forecasts, contingencies, cash flow, earned value, cost-to-complete, payments, and lender drawdowns, ensuring financial discipline.
Direct construction through commissioning of PV, substations, transmission, SCADA, and balance-of-plant facilities, ensuring schedule, productivity, quality, resources, testing, energization, synchronization, and performance guarantees.
Lead transition to commercial operations, establish O&M and asset management systems, and assume Plant Head responsibilities after COD to achieve generation, availability, PR, efficiency, reliability, compliance, and asset value targets.
Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary team, developing succession and talent plans while fostering accountability, collaboration, integrity, continuous improvement, and effective stakeholder communication.
