• B.Sc. In Electrical/Mechanical Eng./Graduate in any discipline along with completion of Fire Manager course from Fire Service & Civil Defense

• Smart, energetic, punctual, self-motivated and result oriented.

• Excellent communication skills both written & speaking in English & Bengali.

• Able to communicate effectively with all levels.

• Willing to stay at near to factory.

• Fire defense personnel will be given highly priority.

GMS Textiles Ltd. is a complete green project & one of the most modern knit composite factories in Bangladesh, is going to recruit “Officer/Senior Officer - Fire & Safety” for its factory unit, located in Tansutrapur, Kaliakoir, Gazipur.

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure fire & safety activities according to the FSCD, BNBC & NFPA code.

• Ensure risk assessment of the complex building and take necessary steps against requirement of safety issues.

• Conduct fire training from Fire Service & Civil Defense, BGMEA in coordination with head of the department to increase the percentage of training of all factories to align with the standard.

• Ensure and cross-check daily, weekly and monthly all fire equipment’s as per check list and make sure all fire equipment’s are active mode.

• Conduct regular Fire & Evacuation drill of all buildings in the Complex as per law consulting with the concerned personnel.

• Keep all fire & safety documents & reference ready for Buyer & Auditors in Coordination with Compliance department.

• Conduct internal fire safety audit per month.

• To ensure having personal safety equipment like a mask, metal gloves, eye guard, needle guard, pulley cover, goggles, earplug, gumboot, rubber apron, earplug for workers are working in machines & chemical stores.

• Ability to manage Fire safety equipment installation, checking & maintenance.

• Fire Detection requirement:

-       Need to know the operation of the fire alarm control panel.

-       Have knowledge about open circuit fault, short circuit fault, Ground fault, No answer fault, NAC fault and also all kind of troubleshooting.

-       Have knowledge about all kind of interfacing like fire pump, exhaust fan, Lift, Fire Door, Temper switch, flow switch and PA System.

-       Have knowledge about NFPA 72 and RSC requirements.Fire

• Protection requirement:

-       Need to know about the operation of the fire pump.

-       Have good knowledge about NFPA 13, 14, 20 and 25.

-       Good Knowledge on drawing & design.

-       Need to know about RSC required documents.

• Perform any other task assigned by the management as & when required.
