Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Marketing or Managerment from a reputed institution.
Minimum 7 - 8 years of experience in sales leadership roles, of which 2–3 years must be in a Finance Business Partner capacity.
Preferably from FMCG, Consumer Goods, or Commodities sectors with strong Finance BP exposure.
Strong command of data-driven decision-making and P&L management.
High financial acumen and understanding of cost structures, margins, and trade spend efficiency.
Advanced skills in channel development, sales forecasting, and territory planning.
Proficiency in CRM tools, BI dashboards, and sales automation systems.
Operational discipline and execution excellence across distribution networks.
Demonstrated capability in leading large teams with cross-functional collaboration
Responsibilities & Context: - Sales Strategy & Execution
- Design and implement national sales strategies aligned with business goals and product portfolio priorities.
- Set and manage regional and zonal sales targets, ensuring consistent achievement of volume, value, and profit objectives.
- Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Lead and develop high-performing regional sales teams; ensure structured capability-building programs.
- Promote a performance-driven culture with clear accountability and coaching support.
- Drive a results-oriented culture through motivation, incentive schemes, and clear KPIs.
- Channel & Distribution Development
- Optimize route-to-market strategies across traditional trade, modern trade, and emerging channels.
- Expand distributor footprint and ensure financial hygiene and ROI of partners.
- Retail & Trade Engagement
- Strengthen relationships with key trade partners, retailers, and institutional buyers.
- Implement trade promotion schemes, incentives, and loyalty programs for dealers and retailers.
- Conduct market visits, trade meets, and local activations to drive brand presence and pull.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with Marketing for product launches, branding campaigns, and trade promotions.
- Liaise with Supply Chain for timely product availability and logistics alignment.
- Work with Finance on pricing, credit limits, and outstanding collections.
- Financial & Operational Partnership
- Act as a Finance Business Partner to ensure cost-to-serve optimization, working capital efficiency, and margin sustainability.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain, Finance, and Marketing for accurate demand planning, pricing decisions, and promotional alignment.
- Market Intelligence & Business Insights
- Analyze market trends, competitor strategies, and consumer behaviors to inform tactical and strategic decisions.
- Drive data-led sales performance reviews, leveraging BI tools for real-time insights.
- Compliance & Process Excellence
- Ensure adherence to credit policies, distributor agreements, and ethical sales practices.
- Institutionalize sales processes, CRM utilization, and digital sales enablement.
- Data-Driven Reporting & Insights
- Leverage sales data and market intelligence for decision-making and strategic adjustments.
- Generate MIS reports for management on competitor activity, pricing trends, stock movements, and market gaps.
