• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of athleisure/lingerie fabric construction, garment assembly, and technical buyer specifications.

• Software Proficiency: Mandatory experience with ERP/PLM systems and mastery of MS Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Communication: Strong English communication skills (verbal & written) for international buyer interaction.

• Analytical Skills: Ability to perform complex cost calculations and analyze market trends.

• Travel: Willingness to travel domestically and internationally if required.

• Product Development & Innovation: Lead the transformation of buyer tech-packs into physical samples, ensuring alignment with seasonal trends and buyer specifications.

• Sourcing: Proactively identify and source innovative fabrics (lace, mesh, performance blends), trims, and accessories ahead of design packs.

• Sampling Management: Coordinate with pattern-making and sampling departments to develop prototypes, salesman samples (SMS), and size sets.

• Costing & Negotiation: Prepare detailed cost sheets, calculate precise garment consumption, and negotiate competitive pricing with buyers and suppliers to meet target costs and profit margins.

• Technical Liaison: Act as the technical expert between buyer design teams and the factory floor to resolve construction, moisture-wicking, or durability issues early.

• Timeline Tracking (T&A): Create and monitor Time and Action (T&A) plans for all development stages to ensure Sample On-Time Delivery (OTD).

• Buyer Relationship Management: Serve as a primary point of contact for international brands, managing correspondence for lab-dip approvals, strike-offs, and sample feedback.

• Compliance & Quality: Ensure adherence to buyer compliance (OEKO-TEX, GOTS) and implement strict quality checks for stitching strength and detailing.

• Leadership (For Senior Post): Mentor junior merchandisers, oversee daily progress, and act as the final decision-maker for internal sample approvals and supplier selection.
