Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Identify problems: Use diagnostic equipment and computer software to identify issues with a vehicle
∎ Plan work: Use technical manuals, charts, and experience to plan work procedures
∎ Perform maintenance: Perform routine maintenance like oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotations
∎ Repair parts: Replace or repair worn-out parts like brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors
∎ Perform repairs: Repair engines, brakes, steering, and automotive electrical systems
∎ Explain problems: Explain automotive problems and repairs to clients
∎ Perform safety checks: Perform emissions inspections, safety checks, and other state-regulated vehicle examinations
