Experience:
Strong knowledge of garment washing processes, chemicals, and machinery.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation.
Plan, organize, and lead all Research & Development activities related to garment washing, dyeing effects, and finishing processes.
Develop new washing techniques, recipes, and value-added finishes in line with buyer requirements and fashion trends.
Conduct laboratory and bulk trials to improve fabric appearance, hand feel, durability, and performance.
Coordinate with production, merchandising, quality assurance, and compliance teams to ensure smooth implementation of R&D developments.
Evaluate and approve chemicals, enzymes, and auxiliaries; ensure proper usage and cost optimization.
Analyze wash performance issues (shade variation, strength loss, pilling, color fastness, etc.) and provide corrective actions.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce reprocessing, wastage, water, energy, and chemical consumption.
Ensure all R&D activities comply with buyer standards, ZDHC, RSL/MRSL, and local environmental regulations.
Monitor and implement sustainable and eco-friendly washing technologies and processes.
Prepare and maintain technical documents including SOPs, wash recipes, trial reports, and cost breakdowns.
Support sampling, pilot runs, and pre-production approvals to ensure right-first-time production.
Provide technical support during production challenges and buyer audits.
Train and develop R&D, lab, and technical staff to enhance skills and performance.
Liaise with machinery and chemical suppliers to evaluate new technologies and improvements.
Maintain R&D lab equipment, testing instruments, and ensure proper calibration.
Review customer feedback and production data to drive innovation and performance improvement.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for technical non-conformities.
Prepare monthly and annual R&D performance reports for management review.
