Educational Requirements:

Job Context:
∎ JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for the identification of appropriate and sustainable WTPs/ETPs considering the geo-hydrological context and provide technical support for quality installation and O&M of the technologies (i.e., ETPs/WTPs) through the water entrepreneurs/SMEs and owner of the RMG factories under DMDP project.
∎ SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES
∎ Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the programme`s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
∎ Location: BRAC Field Office, Dhaka

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Identify appropriate and sustainable Water Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (WASH) technologies based on geo-hydrological context and technological mapping. Take part in needs/ feasibility assessments, prepare/ review drawings & specifications and produce detailed technical reports on the installation of WTPs and ETPs DMDP supported 'safe water for all project'.
∎ Provide technical support for ensuring the proper setting up with layout plan, erection and functioning of larger capacity Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) and Effluent Treatment Plants (EPTs) under the project of 'safe water for all' as per guideline of the Grundfos and Hydro Industries Ltd.
∎ Support the Project Manager in conducting studies and developing/implementing business model, preparing progress report on technical aspect and periodic report on the functioning of ETPs for effluent treatment in factories and WPTs for supply of safe in communities.
∎ Regularly conduct the field visit and talk with the stakeholders/communities on assessing the WASH situation, supervise the performance of technical team and follow-up the functioning of the installed technologies (WTPs/ETPs).
∎ Provide technical support for preparing guidelines/training modules and capacity building of the selected project staffs, local water entrepreneurs and water vendors to expand their business in water services, Grundfos and Hydro environment friendly technology, operation and maintenance, etc.
∎ Assist the project field team for the selection of appropriate sites and water entrepreneurs and RMG factories to install the WTPs and ETPs as per design and specification of the Grundfos and Hydro Industries Ltd.
∎ Perform overall quality control of the infrastructure development related work (budget, estimate, schedule, implementation plan, O&M of WTPs/ETPs etc.) and update the project team regularly on project status. Review technical deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
∎ Coordinate and discuss on project interventions with different government and non-government organizations/agencies (DoE, BGMEA, BKMEA, PACT etc.) and project stakeholders. (i.e., RMG factory owners, water entrepreneurs, and SMEs) for better understanding on situation and available technological solutions.
∎ Monitor the functioning of ETPs/WTPs and provide timely support to the project implementation team for developing a sustainable supply chain through SMEs for the proper functioning of the installed 30 WTPs and ETPs and ensure the after sales services for satisfaction of the clients.
∎ Provide support to the SMEs (service agents) to set up with equipment and training on delivering services to the Water Entrepreneurs and RMG factory owners on smooth operation of installed Grundfos and Hydro Industries WTPs/ETPs technologies.
∎ Emergency support to any programme within BRAC and other stakeholders about any technical issue consulting with Project Manager/ Supervisor.

Additional Requirements:
∎ Sound technical knowledge regarding Water and Sanitation options
∎ Sound technical knowledge on installation and erection of WTPs and ETPs
∎ Knowledge on GIS, data analysis and engineering software
∎ Have proficiency in computer skills with all Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
∎ Excellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills
∎ Able to work effectively in a diverse team environment
∎ Minimum 05 years of relevant work experience is required
