Responsibilities & Context: - BEPZA Regulations: Ensure all HR and administrative functions strictly comply with the specific rules, regulations, and instructions of the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and the relevant EPZ Labor Act.
- Social & Buyer Compliance: Oversee and manage all aspects of social compliance (e.g., working hours, environment, non-discrimination, anti-harassment, safety) to meet international buyer requirements and standards (e.g., Sedex, BSCI, WRAP, CTPAT, etc.).
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare, maintain, and update all mandatory legal documents, records, and reports for submission to BEPZA, government agencies, and international auditors.
- Manpower Planning: Develop and execute manpower plans to meet the company's staffing needs efficiently.
- Recruitment & Selection: Manage the full cycle of recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, testing, and selection of workers, staff, and management personnel as per company policy and BEPZA guidelines.
- Onboarding: Conduct and manage the orientation and induction program for all new employees, ensuring they understand company policies, safety rules, and compliance standards.
- Benefits Administration: Administer employee benefits programs such as leave management, provident fund, gratuity, insurance, and medical facilities.
- Employee Discipline: Establish, monitor, and enforce company policies, rules, and regulations to maintain discipline and a harmonious working environment.
- Grievance Management: Act as the primary point of contact for employees, effectively managing the full lifecycle of the grievance handling process, and taking appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
- Worker-Management Communication: Promote and facilitate effective communication and good relations between management and employees (which may involve handling matters related to workers' participation committees/welfare committees, depending on the EPZ setup).
- Performance Appraisal: Oversee the performance management system, including goal setting, performance reviews, and feedback mechanisms.
- Training & Development: Identify training needs, develop training modules (especially on compliance, safety, and skills development), and implement programs to enhance staff capacity and organizational effectiveness.
- Succession Planning: Work on identifying and developing potential internal candidates for future key positions.
- Liaison: Act as the main liaison officer for BEPZA officials, local government bodies, law enforcement agencies, and other external stakeholders.
