Responsibilities & Context:
1. Logistics & Distribution Planning
• Develop and implement logistics and distribution strategies aligned with company production and sales plans. • Ensure timely and cost-effective transportation of raw materials, finished goods, and other operational items. • Monitor and optimize distribution network performance across factory, depot, and customer delivery points. • Plan dispatch schedules based on production output and delivery commitments.
2. Transportation Management
• Oversee inbound and outbound transportation activities including vehicle planning, routing, and load optimization. • Manage transport vendors, fleet operations, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards. • Negotiate freight rates and transportation contracts to ensure cost competitiveness. • Monitor vehicle utilization, fuel efficiency, and logistics cost control.
4. Distribution Network & Customer Service
• Ensure timely delivery to customers, dealers, and distribution points maintaining service level agreements (SLA). • Resolve logistics-related customer complaints and delivery discrepancies. • Monitor delivery performance and ensure adherence to committed timelines.
5. Cost Control & Performance Monitoring
• Prepare and monitor logistics and distribution budgets. • Analyze logistics costs, identify savings opportunities, and implement cost optimization initiatives. • Develop KPIs related to delivery performance, transport cost, inventory movement, and service efficiency.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and company logistics standards. • Maintain proper documentation related to transport, insurance, and statutory compliance. • Identify logistics risks and implement mitigation strategies.
7. Team Management & Coordination
• Lead and supervise logistics, transport, and distribution teams. • Provide training and performance monitoring of logistics staff. • Coordinate closely with production, procurement, sales, and finance departments for smooth operations.
