Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Maintain communication with the complainant to ensure accurate fact-finding after receiving approval to initiate inquiry.
∎ Assign complaints to an appropriate inquiry team based on allegations and conduct field visits if required and follow up with the team to ensure effective inquiry.
∎ Ensure to plan for risk assessment of the complainant, witnesses, alleged offenders, as well as inquiry officers during the inquiry.
∎ Ensure that the inquiry team is well-prepared and follows the inquiry procedure, as well as other related policies.
∎ Coordinate with the respective programme before inquiry for their necessary cooperation.
∎ Edit and review all inquiry reports along with evidence to ensure quality and submit for final review.
∎ Prepare and coordinate the SGMC Forum. Create a team to present reports.
∎ Prepare the concern inquiry team to present their inquiry findings at the hearing of the Ombudsperson office.
∎ Arrange training sessions, refreshers, and orientation sessions to develop the capacity and skills of the SGMC inquiry team regarding new inquiry processes.
∎ Follow the inquiry guidelines and the procedures of BRAC HRPP while conducting an inquiry involving senior staff.
∎ Conduct inquiries when needed and support team in the field with technical knowledge
∎ Develop trend analysis, donor reports, case studies, and compile data
∎ Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
∎ Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
∎ Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
∎ Job Purpose
∎ You will be responsible for leading the inquiry team, supervising the team formation, ensuring support for team members, finalizing the inquiry report with high quality, presenting reports in the SGMC forum to take disciplinary actions, and building the capacity of the team to uphold organizational objectives.
